[Chevelle-list] Rearend
Does anyone know how to take off the rear shock studs from the rearend? If you have to cut them off how do you put new ones on? Thanks for any helpRJ Winkler
RE: [Chevelle-list] Rearend
Hey Ron, mine had new shocks on it when I bought it. They have bolts on the rearend, not sure what is stock, but I would assume the bolts came with the shocks. Other vehicles I have worked on had hardware with the shocks also. Rick, There are no known 66 2 dr wagons built, only self built 66 2 dr wagons. SV: [Chevelle-list] Gmpartsdepot
Hi John I Wished I had those little elves myself :-), then I wouldnt need to bother how to get hold of them. No I am actually just asking as a customer, well aware about delivery problems which might occur from time to time and retailers are out of information. To me a supplier should be able to deliver in the correct time, same as he expect me to pay in time, right? If a supplier (retailer or who ever) not is able to deliver, at least I expect a correct answer WHEN in can be delivered. I understand a small retailer (I guess gmpartsdepot is small compared to gm) might have problems with their suppliers through the supply chain, but I as a very small customer has the right to ask questions, and are hoping the retailer brings them to his supplier. Of course, this is not an easy process, neither I expect wonder, but if we as end-customer doesnt ask, who does? The guy I talked to was very helpful, and also very honest. He couldnt say which is better than promise me something he maybe not was able to keep. Of course it would have been even better if he would have the chance to confirm a delivery date, 1 week, 4 weeks or 10 weeks ahead. That would have helped me in to make a decision. Do I look on it from a to professional view? As you might remember sourcing is my profession :-) Hans -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: John Nasta [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Skickat: Wednesday, April 06, 2005 17:45 Till: The Chevelle Mailing List Ämne: RE: [Chevelle-list] Gmpartsdepot Keep in mind that these guys don't have little elves in their basement hammering out Vortec heads while the rest of the world sleeps. They buy them from a supplier (wholesaler). Suppliers often say that they expect things in, and then they don't come in. They even announce new products, and the products never actually make it to the shelves, or they do one run and get with some complaints, and they go back to re-tooling. This is not the retailer's fault and there is really nothing he/she can do about it except relay the latest information they have been given. Sometimes the latest information from the supply chain is that there is no ETA. Should you buy somewhere else? Only you can decide but you should probably at least see if someone else has them in stock. You may find that every retailer has the same answer, or you may find your parts. Do call and cancel the other order though if you get them somewhere else. It can save lots of headaches for everybody. John Nasta -Original Message- Hi Is there anybody out there having good or bad experience with gmpartsdepot? I am trying to buy two new Vortec cylinder heads # 25534431. A note on the webpage: Item is currently on backorder please call for more info When I call them, no-one (even if the guy was helpful) can tell when the heads asr availible. not even an estimation. To double-check I sent a mail, but the answer was about the same. To me its a strange way of doing business and I am not sure di I dare to buy anything from them? They have an alternative head availible. Or should I buy heads somewhere else? Br Hans
