Personally, I've always compared the cost of a
gallon of gas to the cost of
a gallon of milk, as I consider them both daily
 'essentials'.

The good news is I managed to fill up yesterday at
 1.99/gallon. The bad
news is, I was happy about it!

I saw milk at a convenience store for 2.69/gallon
 the other day.

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in
 perspective.

 Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ... $9.52 per gallon

 Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .. $10.17 per gallon

 Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ... $10.00 per gallon

 Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ... $33.60 per gallon

 Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

 Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ... $123.20 per gallon

 Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ... $25.42 per gallon

 Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ... $84.48 per gallon

Evian water 9 oz $1.49... $21.19 per gallon?!
$21.19 for WATER - and the
buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled
 backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your
 car doesn't run on water,
Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid Pepto Bismol or
 Nyquil.

[Chevelle-list] Tires

2005-04-19 Thread Dan Mascheck
I'm running wide 15 tires on the rear and smaller 15 on front. I can't
give you exact information until tomorrow! I've been looking at Nitto and
Falken tires, and like what I see. Does anyone have an opinion on either
tire..or do you prefer something else! I like the straight groove
pattern to allow water to disperse!

I've been a simple BF Goodrich Radial T/A fan for all
of my years..

They always look sharp, the name is well-known, and
they LAST.

Re: [Chevelle-list] Tires

2005-04-19 Thread MICRLASER

Performance wise, BF Goodrich tires are good on dry pavement, put them in water, they suck. I was never able to get any traction with them when I had them on my 86 Cutlass. I've been running the Firestone Firehawk series on my 70 SS and am happy with them, they hook pretty well behind a healthy 454. Also on a side note, I have the Pep Boys special, Futura GLS Super Sport on my 86 Cutlass now as well as my 69 and they seem to do pretty well.

My problem with the Radial T/As is that they are everywhere.
Probably 2/3rds of the cars at any show will have them installed.
I'm using the Firestone firehawks on my little truck they are fine.
The el camino is running Yokohama AVID S/Ts' and I really like
them.My general impression is that they ride quieter and handle
better than the previous T/As'.

1967 isn't it the 1 shorter version? I was looking for the shorter one,
but I finally gave up. Decided to buy the longer one and replace my
rims. Otherwise I would have been a potential buyer. :-(
