Re: [Chevelle-list] If it wasn't for bad luck,,,
Clint, Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I thoughtI had done well by making it 27 years without breaking a bone. I was just bragging about that fact 15 minutes before the Blazer crossed the centerline and sideswiped up head-onwhile riding myHarley back in 1996. I broke my hand in several places, and my wife broke some ribs. I'm a mechanic by trade so this was not a good thing, plus I couldn't ride (which really sucked). Anyway, I'm sure things will work out OK for you. Ihope you havea speedy recovery. Best wishes for your wife also. Take care. Scott Jackson 1969 Chevelle SS 396

[Chevelle-list] Allied Hydraulic 2 Ton Floor Jack
Has anyone repaired an Allied 2 ton floor jack? Mine was made in 1986 and the seals are leaking such that it will not lift a vehicle. No repair parts are available, and according to Allied the Taiwan company that made it for them is out of business. Does anyone know of a source for parts that I havent tried? Thanks, Dennis McGillis1965 Malibu SS
Re: [Chevelle-list] Allied Hydraulic 2 Ton Floor Jack
Is there a local place that repairs hydraulic cylinders and jacks..?? we have one 30 mi away (local) ..they usually have been able to get the parts or make something...but the money sometimes makes you wonder why not just get a new one.. sometimes thats the only better fix. You'll probably find that the cost of repair is more than the cost of a new jack. I had an old Craftsman Made in Japan jack that lasted 19 years. When it broke I checked on new parts, and it was cheaper to buy a new jack from NAPA. BL

They better get their head out of their A$$, maybe bring back the Camaro - Firebird or a retro Chevelle!?! Keith Standard Poor's cuts GM, Ford to junk status Reuters / May 05, 2005 NEW YORK -- In a one-two punch for financial markets, Standard Poor's cut General Motors' and Ford Motor Co.'s debt ratings to junk status on Thursday, citing brutal global competition and flagging sales of the automakers' most profitable vehicles. The downgrades, which total about $290 billion and are the largest cuts to junk in a single day, jolted financial markets. Stocks and the dollar weakened. Safe-haven Treasury debt prices rose. The broad junk bond market, which by some measures will expand about 15 percent in short order, dropped. Burdened by junk ratings, the automakers have fewer avenues for raising funds. Their shares extended their losses and their bonds fell by about 5 cents on the dollar as investors braced for investment grade portfolio managers to sell auto debt.

Pelle Congratulations, I know what kind of feeling you get after passing the Swedish vehicle inspection (yeah I could guess pretty accurate about your feelings for your wife as well J) Years ago my friend back in Sweden inspected his Dodge 65, and got the same remark as you got. Change the wiper on the driver side, the remark was correct, it was in bad shape. He needed to re-inspect the change, and it was a big concern to him as wipers for American cars where really expensive The solution was to change the wipers between driver and passenger side. He passed the re-inspection, and could drive the car for another year Hans -Ursprungligt meddelande- Från: Pelle Andersson [mailto:chevellegearheads@hotmail.com] Skickat: Thursday, May 05, 2005 09:22 Till: The Chevelle Mailing List Ämne: Re: [Chevelle-list] Keep your fingers crossed!
