Re: [Chevelle-list] Bumpers (larry W)
Glad I could help. The 427 is great. Recently replaced the stock heads with some Alum. Edelbrock oval ports, a new hyd comp cams roller, jet hots, and an x-pipe. The next project is to try to get the power to the ground. Makes way too much smoke. Power os awsome! Only use a 9 footers if nothing else will fit. Go for an 18 or 20 footer. You wont regret anything except the cost. Larry (Z)
Re: [Chevelle-list] Garage
I'd go with a single 18...worth the extra money over a 16 if you are going to park 2 cars on a daily basis...and a 20 would be even better...I've got the 2x9's and like most everyone , wish I had a single...1 less opener to buy... check out www.garagejunkies.net for other guys that are building and remodeling stuff..I have already gotten some good ideas from it.. go with the one 16 by 8 I added on to my garage actually doubling it, but put the two 9x8 and have been kicking my self in [EMAIL PROTECTED] for it ever since. my wife has a harder time backing the car in and it does make it look more open with just the one door. the only good thing about the two doors is that my tool box fits in the spot between then nicely. - Original Message - From: "Rick Schaefer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Monday, August 08, 2005 9:15 PM Subject: [Chevelle-list] Garage >I am in final planning for my new garage. I converted my garage doors from two 9x8's to one 16x8 and it was one of the best things that I could have done. Not only for parking cars, but just for working room and getting other things in and out of the garage. Plus you seem to just get a much more open feeling that facilitates work in the garage. It's a "no brainer" in my opinion. Re: [Chevelle-list] Howard County Fair MD Show
Hi Jim: Are we talking the Northeast where we have our MCC/ACES Regional Show? I'm about 90 miles from there. Once a year there rain or shine & once to Adams Chevrolet is about all I can handle in that direction on the highway. Elkton's a good drive from central Montgomery County also. I'm seriously thinking about going to a 5-speed trans for more highway drivability. Then some of these longer distance shows would be more pleasurable trips. The Howard County Show was about 15 miles of suburban road. 30 miles to Frederick on 355 is a nice ride. 35 miles to Westminster is nice & 60 miles no highway to Littlestown, PA is a fun trip. My car is a driver. 4 speed & 3.73 rear. Hasn't seen a trailer since it came across country from Washington state 4 years ago. But it doesn't like the rain. I think I got all the leaks sealed after the MCC/ACES of 2003. Cleaning a driver show car after being caught in a storm sucks. Funny how the dust from the dragstrip doen't bother me as much. [Chevelle-list] Howard County Fair MD Show
Good Morning: Just curious if anyone in the area or in the MCC went to the Howard County Fair Show yesterday in West Friendship, MD. What was the condition of the field and did the weather hold up-any rain? I didn't like the looks of the weather in my area and the Weather Channel didn't look much better for 12-3PM. I was there last year & it's an open show put on by a group of old F**D guys. They're freindly, harmless & do a good job with the show. What was fun about it last year was that the small show area was adjacent to a huge parking lot to get into fair. So thousands or virtually everyone who came to the Fair had to walk by the show. Got to meet & talk to alot of people. Makes for a great day. Especially if you've ever been to an out of the way/isolated show where much fewer people are even aware a show is going on. Phil G. 65 SS
