[Chevelle-list] Installing bucket seats?
Hi! When I installed the bucket seats that have a much more rigid frame I noticed that the floor/brackets doesnt align horizontally with the four legs on the seats making them wiggle on three legs. If I just bolt em down anyway the slides get warped, making it hard to adjust the seat forward/backward. Is it supposed to be some sort of adjusting mechanism to fix this? B.R. -- Pelle
Re: [Chevelle-list] Installing bucket seats?
Pelle If you are not using stock seats, you may need a spacer under one or more of the mount bolts to prevent the wobble. I had to drill new holes for one of the bolts on each of my seats. Also if you do drill a new hole, use some kind of floor reinforcement. A large heavy duty washer or piece of steel. You don't want the seat pulling loose in an emergency. Re: [Chevelle-list] Installing bucket seats?
Im using stock bucket seats all the 3 bolts the 4:th (hole!) are perfectly aligned so Im thinking of using a piece of threaded rod in the 4:th hole bolts to adjust the height!? Ive done some further investigation the aftermarket (factyory specs) floor brackets have a part Included that Im missing that seems to be some kind of level adjustment gismo? Re: [Chevelle-list] Installing bucket seats?
Pelle, If you converted from a bench to buckets you will need a mounting plate to provide the correct support and height. All the Chevelle parts houses carry these plates for about $17.00. [Chevelle-list] 12 Bolt Lubrication
When I finally get my 12 bolt put back together how much fluid does it hold? I know I need to ad a posi additive but I was thinking something like 2 quarts plus posi additive. Does this sound right? I want to make sure I get enough while I am at it. Thanks Ryan
Re: [Chevelle-list] 12 Bolt Lubrication
Dale, Right after I sent the email to the list I found what I had been looking for. You are right it takes four and not two. Thank you however for the response, I sure do appreciate it. Ryan
Re: [Chevelle-list] Oil Filter info
Dennis- I checked my books today and it only lists the 305 for 60-61. It calls for a cartridge style filter, not a screw on. If you have a screw on style and can give me the number I can work from there. It holds 2 quarts and will screw on a factory sbc or bbc.
