[Chevelle-list] Yea...I'm ABSOLUTELY Crazy...

2008-08-18 Thread deblk3rulz
I will be departing from SW Florida to Bristol Tennessee for the Nascar Race
THIS weekend.

That said...I must first endure a weak category 1 hurricane tomorrow
morning...wait for it to get further inland...and skate up I-75
North...

Crazy...Yes...I'm taking My Chevelle...Not much choice really...BUT...should I
have the unthinkable...would anyone in the route give help if necessary?

Contact me off list if your willing...

the price of a round trip ticket it may be worth just flying out and looking @

As far as transportation , do not just take the lowest bid. Make sure whoever
hauls your car has a good history.Ask us in here about car haulers. I had a
horrible experence when I had my Chevelle moved several years ago. The car
disappeared for 14 days and when I received it, the insurance company for the
transporter ended up writing me a check for $3500.00.

I've found a 1965 on line I'm interested
in buying. It seems to be a good deal.
I've seen pictures and talked with the owner. Due to the distance involved I'm
considering buying this car sight unseen. I can afford the asking price and
have lined up getting the car transported (open carrier). I know there must be
some risk involved. Do any group members know a way to guide me through the
process? Paperwork, title transfer, any taxes, etc. (I realize things vary from
state to state) I've never bought a car on line. Can anyone help with the
pitfalls and cautions I should follow. I've really got my heart set on this
car. ANY help, past experiences, etc. would be great.

I bought the 71 out of Penn. last year and had a good transaction, granted the
car is as rough as a night in jail but thats what I expected. It was a good
foundation to start on at a great price. When I went to title it in my state
(KY) I had to have the car inspected by the local police dept. to make sure the
VIN matched the car (make absolutely sure you do this BEFORE buying) and I
now have it in my name. Thats the short end to it. Just make sure the seller
posts good pics and that they are honest about the vehicle, I know its hard to
do sight unseen, thats why I bought I project car, it would be really hard for
me to let go of some serious green for a finished car and not see it. Hope this
helps. Oh and if you would be interested, it is for sale

John,
I'm so very sorry to hear this terrible news. My deepest sympathies to you,
your family, and his family. May God bless him and all of you with tenderness
during this difficult time. I've never met you, as I'm just one of those
that read and absorb your knowledge at the Chevelle list, but have never chimed
in. This is one time that I feel it is most important to let you know that I
am deeply saddened for you. I know what it's like to loose a close family
loved one. I hope God can heal your pain, though I know one never fully heals
that pain. Again, God bless all of you.
Most Sincerely, Bruce Mogul.
