Re: [Chevelle-list] BB Motor Mount Question

2009-05-01 Thread Larry Williams
For those who are interested, I decided to notch the rear of the cross
member to accommodate the current mounting. We are using a die grinder
and will cut out the rear face going back about 1 1/2" and weld back in
the original piece with a small gusset on the side. The width is right
up to the motor mount on the cross member - close to 12". I think it
will be clean and strong.

In the process of sticking the BB in my 65 Chevelle, and the front
engine mounts don't line up. The new engine has a Moroso pan #20412.
The Jegs catalog says it fits Big Block Chevy engines (except Gen V
and Gen VI) in most chassis except 1962-67 Chevy II, V8 Vega/Monza,
and 1955-57 Chevy.

The front engine mount is more than a 1" back from the stock location,
and the pan is against the rear of the cross member. When I switched
from SB to BB I do not recall changing the front mounts, but I may be
wrong. Is there another engine mount available. Has anyone run
across this problem?

[Chevelle-list] Chevelle patch

2009-05-01 Thread jr...@juno.com
Hey Chevelle guys,
Now that the y'day's leftover drain cock & sweatshirt are both claimed, the
only other items I came up with on my pass through my last closet is:
- red/white/blue "Chevelle" rectangle shape embroidered cloth patch that I
never got around to sewing onto a hat or jacket
It's just collecting dust here, so if anyone can use this, I'll be glad to send
it to you if you'll send me a couple bucks for shipping (it's too thick to put
it in a normal envelope and mail it for $.42, so I'll have to buy one of those
little manilla envelopes and then postage will probably be a litlte over a buck
I bet).
   Can anyone use it?
   Jim 09-Challenger-RT.
