Re: [Chevelle-list] cowl screen

Be careful with the length of the screws you install. Years ago I
ordered correct screws and they turned out to be either too long, or I
installed them at the wrong angle. Either way, several extended too far and
put a dimple into the outer sheetmetal. I didn't notice til I had 3 or 4
significant dimples. Paintless dent repair fixed them but it was
aggravating.

It attaches with screws. If your installing a GM screen on a GM hood you could
probably do it on the car. I put a repop screen on a Goodmark hood and only one
hole lined up. I had to drill the rest. If that is your situation you will need
to pull the hood.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks everyone for all the help, if you are curious it was a module, i had
a spare on hand and when i have time i will take it in and have it tested -
just to see,,, someone told me that usually a coil will not burn out
completely (will usually have some spark in it- but not enough to fire the
engine-
i had none) also i was told that turning on the ignition and holding a
soldering gun (not iron) next to the cap and pulling the trigger will make the
car fire and then you know its not your module.. also the rotor can fail with
no visual signs and ground out your spark without sending it to the plugs--
but i did not try any of this i had the module out before i learned any of
this...
also heard that the pick-up plate can go bad too-?
