[Chevelle-list] vacuum modulator adjustment

Hey Guys,
Need a crash course on adjustable vacuum modulator adjustment.
My SS454 shifts short at part throttle and also at full throttle.
I know there is a screw in the end of the modulator but do you adjust in or out?
How much adjustment can change shift points.
It's a turbo 400 car btw.

Red is high pressure. Blue is low pressure and yellow is where you add the 
freon.

I have not used my AC manifold set in a while. Does anyone know. Which way the 
yellow hose goes? One end is open the other has a valve.The manifold has a dual 
fitting one open one with a valve.
