Re: [Chevelle-list] hello
Mike your so right !
Re: [Chevelle-list] hello
Buy yourself an Asseembly manual for your 66 Chevelle. It will answer so many of your questions. They can be had, in re-produced copy thru many a automotive book dealer, also found in a Hemmings book (for one). Just my 2 cents worth.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Splice or Solder
Very well said. Merry Christmas to you all
Re: [Chevelle-list] 70 Chevelle vert. rear seat
Maybe E-Bay or contact some local chevelle clubs?

Herb, there is as place on Rt.1 in the area of Ellicott City Md. They have been there for years and have a good rep. But for the life of me , at this time, I can't remember it's name. I will find out for you if this will help. Bob 71 Elky
Re: [Chevelle-list] Tranny slipping?
Fred, how many miles on the tranny? When was it rebuilt last? Fluid look good,(reddish color) or is it burnt ? Take it to a reputable tranny dealer. (I used AAMCO in Md's eastern shore, never again).
Re: [Chevelle-list] GARAGE AND BODY SHOP
Here we go again.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Chevelle Heavy Chevy?
Hey Jim, have fun no matter what. You'll learn by doing, don't be afraid to ask questions and go get your hands dirty Bob
Re: [Chevelle-list] Chevelle Heavy Chevy?
Hi Jim, How deep is your pocket book. Ask yourself these questions first. Do I plan on keeping this car for a long time. Do I know enough about restoreing a car to attempt it and do I have a big enough garage to put all the parts in and the car too? If you are going to keep the car for a long time, start thinking about replaceing the whole qtr. panels, Get all the catalogs you can find about Chevelle's join a car club for other useful ideas and suggestions. This maybe an other source for good used parts. Check out local junk yards now, for parts are hard to find sometimes when the money is low. Steel prices are going up and the cars are dissappearing quickly. Lots of luck. Bob

Re: [Chevelle-list] Got a short & new q's
By the time you get everything fixed, someone will come along and want to buy it. Be a shame to sell it then . Nothing for the other person to do.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Got a short & new q's
Good ideas Brad.
Re: [Chevelle-list] more Elka Meano!
Go for it John, have fun! Bob
Re: [Chevelle-list] Unwelcomed guests
Hi Scott, I understand "Moth Balls" will keep them away. You may have to remove the head liner and re install it but you have to get the nest out from it's resting place. I'd have a body shop look at it and maybe they can do it for a fee. I wouldn't attempt it on something that is 35 yearts old and dry . Never a dull moment...Bob
Re: [Chevelle-list] Happy birthday to me & the EC

Re: [Chevelle-list] sales tax
Hey Sarge, how long does it take to "thaw out" in Alaska ?
Re: [Chevelle-list] DROOL!
How can some people put such a high price on a car that just dosent fit the bill. But I guess he is hopeing that there is a "sucker" out there. My friend here on L.I. just bought a 66 fast back Corvette BB 4sp Marina Blue, that was restored about 8 years ago, from the ground up. Price He's a millionaire (plumber). I'm sure it's worth at least 60 g's but wouldnt be surprised if it's a lot more. Take care , glad you enjoy my jokes and stories. Bob K,
Re: [Chevelle-list] Vandalized!!!
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Lets hope everything turns for the better.

Re: [Chevelle-list] Re Haggerty insurance
Hans, could you contact me off line [EMAIL PROTECTED] Need some info on Sweden
Re: [Chevelle-list] What to do?
MY 2 cents. Save the 307 on a stand and put the 350 in. If ever you want to sell the car to someone who wants the orig. engine you have it.
Re: [Chevelle-list] scandinavian traits
Steve, I feel the same way. I'm sorry I didn't learn more Swedish when I had the chance, but then I never thought my grandparents would die, being very young , what did I know. Nothing is written down to pass on to the future generations. It's good to hear from all the Scandinavian's. My grandfather also liked all sorts of fish and fish products. (especially the fish you mentioned w/lye). Thanks
Re: [Chevelle-list] Some Swedish trivia!
Gary, they are living at my house.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Norwegians contra Swedes
Hans, your so right !
Re: [Chevelle-list] Rust Removal

Re: [Chevelle-list] Some Swedish trivia!
Thanks so much for the info. I appreciate it. I'm always looking for information about Sweden. I just wish I could speak the language. When I hear it, it brings back memories of good times. Bob K. 71 Elky

Re: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Ralph, will do. I have friends looking all over the place for a radio. If I find one I will surely let you know. This is turning out to be harder than I thought it would be. But I am meeting some nice people. Now off to Md for two weeks, Bob K 71 Elky
Re: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Thanks John for the info. I didn't remember that. Any bites on the Elky yet? i have to spend a few minutes with the 62 when I go home. Cruiseing next saturday night Bob
Re: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Ralph D. I do not know if the am radio I have is a stereo or mono ? Is there a way of telling without wiring the whole thing up.? Bob K
Re: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Hi, the 70 am radio I have came out of a 70 Impala. I do not know if it works yet. I haven't ried it. But it looks as if it is brand new. Missing one knob. I'll gladly try and see if it works when I return home to Md. in the next week. I'll take a few pictures of it and mail them to you ,if you are interested in a trade, I'm sure it can be arranged. When I return from Md. to N.Y. in two weeks. Think it over and keep in touch. I can always get the radio fixed someplace (yours) when the time comes I'm sure. Thanks for the quick response. Bob K 71 Elky which (by the way can be seen in June's issue of Custom Classic Trucks.)
Re: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Thank you for the info. But will he change the green band at the top of the radio to blue ? I asked one radio man that question and he said "No" So I keep looking for an origional radio , but would really like to find an am/fm. SO, good people out there in Chevelle Land, look in you garages and in your sheds and under the bed, in old car storage cardboard boxs. It's out there, and I'm looking everywhere. ([EMAIL PROTECTED] ) Thanks again Bob K 71 Elky
[Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino
Hey guys, I'm still looking for a radio for my El Camino. The 71 has the white letters and "blue" bar at the top of the radio. I have a good 1970 Chevy radio with "green" bar (am) but I'd like to keep it as close to origional as possible. I'm checking E Bay, but I'd rather find one from a Chevelle fan who knows what is what. If you should have one or know of one, please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks Bob K 71 Elky
Re: [Chevelle-list] Off-Topic elCamino Monster Garage

Re: [Chevelle-list] white letter tires

Re: [Chevelle-list] preferred transmission shop in tri-state area?
I had a tranny put into my Dodge a few years ago. AAMCO, in the CAmbridge - EAston (on Md. eastern shore) Not really satisfied with their work. Maybe other shops are better?
Re: [Chevelle-list] Custom Classic Truck June Issue
I'd like to hear your comments, good or bad. It will never be a finished truck, but I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Bob K.
[Chevelle-list] Custom Classic Truck June Issue
FYI I finally made it into this Magazine. If you would like to take a look at my 71 ElCamino. It's in there somewhere. I haven't seen it yet but my friends have told me about it. Look for a Mulesanne Blue w/ white hood stripes black bucket seat interior. Bob K.
Re: [Chevelle-list] mechanics
Rich, a man 's got to do what a man 's got to do. He may need the money to keep his business afloat and his maybe soon to be ex off his back. Have to walk in his shoes before I understand . He may not like to do what he's doing either, but it helps pay the bills
Re: [Chevelle-list] mechanics
Unfortunately, I have other professionals do my work. I'm a junk yard junkie. I like to look for parts and remove them and bring them home. The big jobs are out of my league. I can sand and put on exhaust systems and tinker. I do not trust myself with anything else. My luck in the past has been bad so I learned to leave it to the pro's.
Re: [Chevelle-list] Searching for high output AirConditioningblowersystem
I see, when you have oil and gas in your veins and dirt under your nails from working on the cars all these years , I understand it is hard to get rid of. Enjoy all that you do, what ever you do.
