Re: [Chevelle-List] Sand Blasting....
JM, I'd say go for getting a 'blaster and do it yourself,,after you get most the rust off,,look into a good rust convertor/stabilizer,worked fer me,,,Ospho is a good one,,and my nephew just tried some in a spray can from Advance auto that worked pretty well(Mar-Hyde I think the brand was),,,Eastwood carries one "Corroless" that I'm very pleased with,,,pricey,,,and no laquer topcoat,,,...Used the convertors in the past with just a wire wheel/brush to loosen up/ remove the scale,,,no 'blasting,,,but I'm a "little" lazier these days! 8^) g'luck mike
Re: [Chevelle-List] testing alternator question, please help-
Hey Jim,,, It'll put out both,,,to check amps you'd have to basically use the meter inline with the hot out of the alternator,,,sorta like you'd put in an inline fuse per say...To check the volts,,as in checking alternator charging just put the meter leads on the battery terminals with the motor off,,then running,,running should be around 13.5 to 14.5 volts...you can have someone vary the engine speed and see what happens,,should be fairly steady if the regulator is working okcheck it with all acess.,headlights,etc. on too.Set the meter for the next highest level above 12 volts DC G'luck mike psI am in no ways a "lecktrishun"

I think these are lurkers that want to gleam info without interacting...they don't read any of the fine print that states how many emails they'll get...then they freak out when they get 100 or so in a day. Most of them seem to let it get so bad that they freak out on the list. If they would just take the time to read a little before they sign up for things, it wouldn't happen nearly as much. These people rarely contribute or they'd know about how things are done. They also don't think to just ask one person what's up...thereby concealing their ignorance and idiocy. They have to get really riled up and show everyone their wadded panties. It will never get any better as there will always be stupid people who don't read things through or think them through before acting. You see it every day now.
