agree Larry,,sounds like it to me as wellOne thing that I've tried and worked is to run a straight wire (speaker wire at the time) from the hot post of the battery to the ignition side of the coil, hit the switch and see if it firesof course it'll burn up the coil if it ain't a HEI and it isn't shut off immediately (by removing the wire!),,but quick enough it let me know I had a wiring problemas they say,,,when all else fails...Having a voltmeter at the time would've helped too

I'd stick with a 2-barrel,,especially on a stock 307..Granted a 4-barrel with
smaller primaries will not be as much,,"usually",,as a 2-barrels.I'd look
up the CFM numbers on your 2-barrel too before buying a 4-barrel,,,which I'm
not absolutely sure what the lowest CFM rating is out there regarding
4-barrels,,600 cfm comes to mind,,,but I'm not sure...I'd be suprised if the
307's carb flows more than 400 cfm,,guessing
Not too mention changing the intake manifold,,,possibly reconfiguring the
linkage,,automatic tranny??,,then the kickdown if connected,,,fuel
line,,breather,,etc.,,etc...

2001-07-31 Thread Dgrewhl1
Hey Jim,,,
It'll put out both,,,to check amps you'd have to basically use the meter
inline with the hot out of the alternator,,,sorta like you'd put in an inline
fuse per say...To check the volts,,as in checking alternator charging just
put the meter leads on the battery terminals with the motor off,,then
running,,running should be around 13.5 to 14.5 volts...you can have
someone vary the engine speed and see what happens,,should be fairly steady
if the regulator is working okcheck it with all acess.,headlights,etc. on
too.Set the meter for the next highest level above 12 volts DC

I think these are lurkers that want to gleam info without
interacting...they don't read any of the fine print that states how many
emails they'll get...then they freak out when they get 100 or so in a day.
Most of them seem to let it get so bad that they freak out on the list. If
they would just take the time to read a little before they sign up for
things, it wouldn't happen nearly as much.

These people rarely contribute or they'd know about how things are done.
They also don't think to just ask one person what's up...thereby
concealing their ignorance and idiocy. They have to get really riled up
and show everyone their wadded panties.

It will never get any better as there will always be stupid people who
don't read things through or think them through before acting. You see it
every day now. It used to really bother me greatly, now I just laugh and
write something equally stupid to the idiots.
