Re: [Chevelle-list] How much are 68 & 69 bumper cores worth?
I don't know what they might give you, but I just bought 2 original 68 bumpers to send out to be chromed for $10.00 each on Ebay. Pat In a message dated 11/27/2008 3:17:50 P.M. Any idea how much I would get for them if I lugged them to a show & turned them in to one of the rechromer outfits like the Bumper Boyz? Thanks, Jim -'09-Challenger-RT-was-69SS396- H. Re: [Chevelle-list] lost my keys
The glove box only has 3 of the 5 tumblers needed to make the whole key. All GM lock tumbler depths must add up to an even number. A locksmith can use the three tumblers you have and using a progression chart can figure out the other 2. I am in the lock industry and used to do this as a locksmith all the time. You can normally try all possible combinations using 2-3 cut keys. I would also be willing to help anyone in the Chevelle world who needs keys cut by code. I have helped a few people out on Team Chevelle over the years. We just need to verify that you are who you say you are and that you really own the car. Re: [Chevelle-list] starter & starter wiring
I don't see one for offset. My stock starter was offset, but the block had the other hole so the mini starter fit fine. I can't imagine that they are rebuilt. Every part was perfect and even the mounting block was polished. Pat ** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

Fwd: [Chevelle-list] vacuum advance hits manifold
Rotating the distributor clockwise retards the timing and rotating if counterclockwise gives you more initial advance. It may be that you need more octane. What compression are you running? Too much advance leads to detonation (pinging). I have also heard that running the wrong heat range of plugs will cause detonation. In a message dated 5/1/2005 8:11:35 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Thanks Pat. Maybe I have this backwards. Does pinging mean that the timing is too far retarded or too far advanced? I just talked to a friend on the phone and he said that hesitation means it's too far retarded and pinging means too far advanced. This is actually the guy who helped me build the engine. He said I probably should be running premium instead of regular. He may be right, but I want to try one thing at a time to eliminate the variables. In any case it does seem to be running better with the timing more advanced. I'll leave it like this for the week and if it still pings on regular I'll get premium next. If that doesnât stop the pinging I'll pull the distributor and move it a tooth (clockwise for more advance, right?). --- Begin Message --- Thanks Pat. Maybe I have this backwards.
