Anyone know about a cruise/car show in Biloxi, Mississippi? My bother went
to one a couple of years ago and wants to know when it is happening this
year. I don't think it is model specific. I think it is something like the
dream cruise up north.

I have ordered over $1000 worth of parts from Ground Up and have not had any
problems. I would give them a call and find out what happened. I would ask
to get what they are advertising if not send it back and tell them to give
you your money back.

Re: [Chevelle-List] Ignition woes (Vette, kinda long)

Here's a couple you can look at. Not sure what year you vett is. I am
assuming it turns over but does not start.

Spark-check the coil to spark plugs make sure you are getting a spark to the
piston.

Fuel-make sure you are getting fuel to the carb. Could be a bad fuel
pump, clogged fuel filter, or maybe some trash in the carb.

Timing-timing chain could be loose and jumped a couple of teeth.

Good luck let us know what it is!!

RE: [Chevelle-List] '66 SS 396 Value

Like everyone one else you need to look at it better. If the car is a SS and
has matching numbers (engine, trans, and rear end) then it might be worth
5K. There is a lot to find out. First is check all number to find out
exactly which SS engine it has. If it's 396/375hp engine even better. Look
at the trunk, lower back window, and floors for rust. If it has been parked
outside for 10 years there is going to be rust. The question is how much. I
myself have a 66 that I am working on check out my web page below.

Good Luck

You need to push in the axles and remove the C-clips. The C-clips are in the
housing. One for each side. Once you remove those it will slide out.

Or set up a hotmail account and let it stop the virus and not have to worry
about it. I have been using hotmail for the chevelle list and have not been
infected. I also don't open any attach files from the chevelle list or any
other list I am on.

I think hotmail uses Mcafee and will warn you if you have any virus
attached.

Plus if you have hotmail you can read your email from any pc when you are
not at home (work, vacation, or out of town)!!!

Here's my thought on the 200r4. Talking to my mechanic who specialize's in
Buick GN said there are 2 different types of 200r4's. The POS one that were
on cutless, monte carlo, regal, and a few other. Then there is the one that
comes on GN and monte carlo SS. The one on the GN has a better built valve
body which if rebuilt right your can get over 500 hp out of these 200r4's.
The is a tag on the tranny that has "BR" on it and only came on GN and MCSS.
Here said those are getting hard to find and are pricey. Since he deals with
GN all the time he had 3 in the back that were rebuilt and sold one to me
for $1000 with TC. I have put this one on the chevelle but have yet to get
it on the road. Only time will tell if what he told me is true.

Well we removed the tranny lines going to the cooler and there is no fuild

it to replace. Would the TC go bad with the pump?

[Chevelle-List] torque converter problems

2001-06-22 Thread George Hernandez

Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List

I have a buddy that just put in a Vig. 3600 torque converter on his 2000
camero. After the first test drive we found out the speedo wire was not
hooked up so it would not shift into 2nd and the speedo did not work. On
second test drive everything worked great. He was able to shift into all
gears. On his way back the car died on him (hot cam) so he puts it in N and
starts it up and it won't go into any gear. Push it down the street to his
house and put it up on jack stands. Check everything under the car and found
nothing. Put it back on the ground and checked the fuild and the level was
above mark. What could cause this? When the TC was put on the tranny it
was turned till it was seated on the tranny so it is on right. Plus it was
working for a short while. The TC he got was used and had 7000 miles on it.
We did add fuild into the TC before it went on the tranny. Could the TC have
gone bad?? It will not engage into any gear (D, OD, R). Plus there is a
whine when you give it gas. We check the linkage to the tranny and it looks
good, can see it moving. I think it is the TC or the tranny. What are the
symtoms of a bad TC. The fluid it clean and does not smell burned. Can
anyone help before we tear it down and put the stock TC back on. Is there a
way for a shop to test the TC?
