RE: [Chevelle-list] long distance transaction help
I bought a car in Virginia and had it shipped to Kansas. I used National Auto Transport and would NEVER use them again. While the vehicle finally got here it was two weeks later than contracted for. They tell you they will pick it up on xx date and that they have reserved a spot on a specific truck, when in reality they sub the delivery out to any number of independent drivers at any time they are available. Point is don't believe anything they say, because if their lips are moving..it's because they are telling a lie. I sent the money( cashiers Check) to the owner by good old US mail. The cost was $750 although I'm sure it will be less for a shorter trip. The moving company needs a contract signed by the shipper, a pick up location and name and phone number of the location he is picking up at and delivering to. Ohio to Minnesota, pretty close, I would consider meeting half way or drive there and rent a one way flat bed hauler and pick it up if you've a vehicle to pull it, or be prepared for delays and frustrations. Oh yes , if they are using a car hauler, be sure your car is on the top row if it's a convertible. You don't want stuff leaked on the top. Good luck. -Original Message- From: Dave Studly [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 23, 2003 1:01 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Chevelle-list] long distance transaction help Hey everybody another lister ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and I are trying to do a long-distance deal for my El Camino. Neither one of us have done this before and just looking for how other people have done this. Hes thinking of having a delivery company pick the car up from my place. 1) Im in Ohio, hes in Minnesota. Ohio titles have to have the sellers signature notarized. Do I just get my title notarized and mail it? 2) Whats the best way to exchange funds? Ive sold my cars locally by asking for cash or a bank cashiers check. 3) What is needed by the delivery company at the point of pickup, in terms of paperwork, title, insurance, etc? 4) Anything else both of us should be aware of? Thanks! -Dave ___ Chevelle-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://chevelles.net/mailman/listinfo/chevelle-list_chevelles.net

[Chevelle-list] Glove box
I have a new dash bezel for my 65 Chevelle ragtop and am wondering if the glove box trim is supposed to be the same"chrome" appearance as the dash bezel. My old bezel had been painted by previous owner and I suspect he did the same to the g.b. trim. Thanks...

RE: [Chevelle-list] Nascar ?
Depends on what you want to spent. A moderate priced motel is the Hampton Inn on I-435. the track is directed north of there on I-435 and I-70. Give your self at least 90 minutes to get there as the traffic is severe. Parking is free. You'll have a ball. If you want something nicer you can stay on the Country Club Plaza. There is a new motel on the same area as the track...but I understand it's sold out. The track is not too far form Kansas City, MO so there are plenty of other motels. Let me know and I can suggest others. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Thomas Newell Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 8:53 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Chevelle-list] Nascar ?
