Re: [Chevelle-list] 64 Chevelle wiper question
Check the linkage. Paint may have jammed them up when they painted the cowl. It would spray right in if the did not remove the cown piece to paint it. - Original Message - From: Daniel De Smet To: The Chevelle Mailing List Sent: Sunday, December 02, 2007 12:50 PM Subject: [Chevelle-list] 64 Chevelle wiper question I just got my car back from paint and body. Now my wipers do not work. I have checked out at the wiper motor and I have 12 volts and when I turn the wiper switch it provides the ground at the motor. So I have power and ground at the motor. I also checked the wiper motor body to ground and it has a good ground to the body. I cleaned the body ground just to make sure. I assumed since I have 12 volts and a ground that switches with the wiper switch that I must have a bad wiper motor. I purchased a new wiper motor and installed it. I checked the wiper linkage when the motor was off and it moved freely. Now that the new wiper motor is installed I still do not have working wipers. Does any one have any ideas? I am wondering if I just got a bad motor. I would not think that a two wire system would be that hard to diagnose but it is really beginning to annoy me plus I lost my schematic book so I am just tracing wires. -- Share life as it happens with the new Windows Live. Re: [Chevelle-list] No Pedal - Poor Braking
Daniel, the push rod length and often the depth of the pushrod hold in master cylinder is different between power and non-power. I found this out the hard way. In fact the pushrod depth is often different with new master cylinders anyway. Check pushrod in back of master cylinder and it probably is not moving far enough. Hope this helps. Been there done that and after much worry and work found right pushrod. - Original Message - From: chevelle292wagon dejazzd.com To: The Chevelle Mailing List Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 12:12 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] No Pedal - Poor Braking From: Daniel Solomon [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Monday, October 1, 2007 11:55 am Subject: [Chevelle-list] No Pedal - Poor Braking To: The Chevelle Mailing List chevelle-list@chevelles.net Picked up my 70 Chevelle from the body shop on Thursday and took it for its maiden voyage this weekend. Car looks and runs great but won't stop. I have absolutely NO pedal. Its not spongy but way to much pedal travel. I was not aware of different length pushrods, that sounds like something to check. The little links between wheel cylinder and shoe is in place on all brake shoes? Maybe recheck the adjustment on the brake shoes? Four shoes with too much clearance will eat up your pedal travel in a hurry. Been there, done that! Pete

Just got back from Penn. I got it at a pretty good steal, but it needs help in the usual places, by spring it'll have new quarters, passenger fender, one rocker, maybe a hood.. but the little 307 fires up fine (thats gotta go). Anyway I'll keep you guys posted, catch you all later. Josh Campbell 2 66SS396 71 Malibu -- Shape Yahoo! in your own image. Join our Network Research Panel today! --
Re: [Chevelle-list] Engine Lift Plate
I have use them to pull Big Block Chevy bus motors with allison transmissions out together. No problems so far. But like with every engine lift or hoist be careful. I have seen heavy brand new chains attached to the heads break. Saftey always. - Original Message - From: Dave Corgill To: The Chevelle Mailing List Sent: Monday, September 10, 2007 10:28 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Engine Lift Plate At 04:14 PM 9/10/2007, you wrote: Anybody have any experiences with those engine lift plates that bolt to the intake manifold.??..I'm kinda wiery on using one on an aluminum intake ...I have visions of the bolts pulling out of the holes when you really don't want them too!!! Re: [Chevelle-list] Hesitates!
What distributer do you have? Is the vacuum hooked up direct full time or ported? Also, what type carb; is it double pump or vacuum secondary? Another possible concern may be the size of the pump "shooter" in the primary side of carb. I turned the distr 180 degrees installed i by the book! I've adjusted the ignition back forth finally decided that 10 degrees was best! The hesitation is much shorter now the engine comes with full power after it picks up again, but it still hesitates :-/ Pelle - Original Message - From: Pelle Andersson To: The Chevelle Mailing List Sent: Sunday, July 23, 2006 5:53 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Hesitates!
