Re: [Chevelle-list] Dog dish caps
I agree i have made some great buys on ebay and one bad , some how the one bad out weights the others, no mater what I would have ask before hand he would have made it ok, but now I have to get on with making it what it was suppose to be so I'm redoing a 65 Malibu convertible Don Chesser - Original Message - From: To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 11/21/2003 1:07:23 AM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] Dog dish caps From what i read in his EBAY ad they were not NOS but possibly a take off when the car was new. To me NOS means something that has never been installed on a car and is no longer in production. You must read in between the lines with what ebay sellers write. They are salesmen trying to get rid of a product. My worst EBAY buy was an NOS rear sway bar. When it arrived there was a barcode attached. I called 4 local GM dealers and had a quote of about 20 bucks less than what I paid for it. Then I called my dealer were I get 20% discount and he had 5 of them. Upon confronting the seller about what NOS was he told me that NOS meant they weren't making them anymore. Funny thing is I can still use that bar code and buy that sway bar. I say the part was new production. If you think you are not going to get any satisfaction out of this clown (this isn't legal according to EBAY) contact all those bidding on his stuff and tell them what a flake he is. Also you could bid on his other products and bid high enough that you win. Then don't pay him EG (but he could give you negative feedback then) I bet you get his attention then. Or have all your friends bombard him with phone calls and emails telling him what a flake he is. There is EBAY "insurance" you can buy for reasonable price that protects a person against a product that you are not satisfied with. I have over 200 buys on EBAY and have been burnt 5-6 times. Looking back if I had read and looked closer I would not have gotten burnt. the excitement of finding a rare part gets the best of me and all I see is that part sitting in my hand no matter what the cost. This can be worse than a drinking or gambling problem. Larry (Z)
