I too, would be interested in the best way to paint over 
chrome. I assume you would just need to rough it up with some 220 or 
so grit sandpaper, prime it and shoot nice thin coats of paint? I would 
like to paint my chrome valve covers (lettering part only), that says "MOROSO", 
with engine heat temp paint and leave the rest of the valve cover chrome.

My 1971 Chevelle is just days from being completely 
finished. All the body work and painting is done and the interior is almost 
finished. I have just one problem. I have what I call fake centerline wheels 
which are rusty up. I can not buy new rim for the car at this time. I do not
