Exactly. If you
don't have the right price published, sell it at the published price. There is
wy too much of this going on, particularly with respect to the
internet.

I will second what Tom says. Nino and Ken for the
guys on this list. As you are well aware, good help is hard to find
these days. This industry is no exception. Ground Up are good
people and will do whatever it takes to make sure their customers are taken
care of and taken care of right. Too bad you got one of the
flunkies. So as Tom said next time you order from Ground Up
ASK for Nino or Ken... if they arent available hang up and call
back. Yeah, I know it's a pain in the butt and a heck of a way to have
to get your parts but in the long runIt will be worth the extra
effort. My .02.Donnie Gates

I can understand a business not up dating their
catalog for every price change but there is no reason their web site should not
reflect the price changes.

I also checked Ground Up's website and the prices for the items are the
same as in the book. Yet when I called they wanted $4 bucks more for one
item and $2 bucks more for the other and wouldn't sell them for the
advertised price when ask.

If this is the case... then real simple... yell a couple of curse words into the phone hang up. Do not try again :P Order from another company or person. I was looking through their catalog a few days ago pondering who to order some fenders and numerous other items for my 68. After these posts... I won't order from them... that it unfair, illegal, and all around screwing the customer. I would much rather deal with someone else. [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend

2002-10-16 Thread Trooper

Having just read the article about price differences on the internet
as compared to what they are charging when you call them up, I placed an
order with Ground Up today. I ordered two parking break cables. One
listed in their 2002 catalog for $85.00 and the other for $24.95. At the
end of the order the numbers weren't right so I asked the guy the read
them back for me. When he got to the cables he says $89.00 and $26.95
respectively. I question him and his exact response was That's a new
catalog and we threw it together real fast so some of the prices aren't
right. I ask if he would honor the listed prices and he said no. I ask
twice for shipping charges and he couldn't give them to me. His answer
should be around 10% of the cost of the items purchased. Since when
does shipping cost have anything to do with the price of an item. I
thought it would be dependent on weight, size, and destination, SILLY
ME!!!

The turn signals on my 71 SS blink to fast, probably 2 or 3 times per

It had an HD flasher in it. When I pull the flasher unit out of the
fuse box it does not affect the blink rate. I would think with the
capacitor out it would cause an open circuit and the blinker would not
blink at all, but mine still keeps blinking fast.

The guy at the parts store told me to slow it down I need a HD
flasher, so I put a new one of them in. Did not change anything. Any
ideas of what might be going on?

I've had the same experience that you and Brad have had but with National
Parts Depot. Surprise price hikes, high shipping costs, poor part quality
(compared to OEM) and indifferent service. I think they are all doing SO
well they've copped an attitude.

Who did you talk to? I'm just going to throw this out to everyone on the
list. if you call Ground Up, make sure you talk to Ken or Nino. They will
take care of you. The people that generally answer the phone are only good
if you have part numbers and ready to order without any questions. If a
conflict arises, talk with one of them. Ken is a very good man to deal with
and I have never had any problems with them. Also if you talk to Ken he will
more than likely give you the actual ship charges anyway if you bring it up.
Being a Team Chevelle/ACES member is a plus too :-).
Also, prices do tend to fluxuate depending on where the market is. Price
increases are not uncommon in this industry as I have found out over and over
again.

Just my opinion.

Thanks Tom,
I am an ACES and Team Chevelle member as well and I mentioned it. His
answer you need to tell me that before you place your order He did
however eventually give me my 10% discount for being a member after I
specifically ask for it. Don't know who I talked to. I'll keep in mind
that Ken and Nino are the men in the future. What is really upsetting,
as I said before, is basing the shipping on the price of your purchase,
not the size, weight, and destination. All the items I ordered were
small, light, and expensive.

Craig,
I've found NPD to be cheaper on many parts as compared to Year One or
Ground Up but they many times turn out to be inferior parts. At other
times they are the exact same quality and at a substantial savings. Now
the big problem, you never know until they're on your door step :)
