Re: [Chevelle-List] any perticular header recomendations?

2002-08-26 Thread Wayne Kline

Kelly right,. The ZZ4 Has angle plug heads and "D"
shaped exhaust ports. Headman makes a few applications with the D port flange.
Try Jim Pace Chevrolet.

Does anyone have any particular header recommendation? My brother
wants to replace his headers on his 70 chevy truck.
I know it not a chevelle! But he does have a new ZZ4 350 in it
  restored beautifully.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also does a ZZ4 have angle plugs or not?

No angled plugs and I'd get Hedman...a muffler and header specialist
friend of mine says they fit the best of any make...he's gonna do mine for me
on the Elky. Let me know if you want his name and number.

Looks like I stand corrected on that. I thought they didn't have them since both the pictures and descriptions of the ZZ4's on all the crate engine catalog pages (including Chevrolet's own) do not reflect that it has angled plug heads. I'm sure all of you that have them can't be wrongjust goes to show you that you can't trust catalogs.

I second that motion, I put a set of Hedman
shorties on my small block '71 last year, and I've been really happy with
them. The shorties are a lot better from a ground clearance
standpoint.

I'll third that. The Hedman's I have for my '70 small-block automatic
install and fit very nice. No serious ground clearance issues, either, and
I have full-length with 1 lower suspension. A quality product, IMO.
