I got a couch from a friend that had been in
storage and it had a molded smell. I use the new Febrez stuff. I had to spray it
down three separate times, but it worked. You will need two or three bottle for
the whole inside of a car. That stuff really does work. You can get it at your
local grocery store.

I guess it's possible, but I've had no change in temp in any of the three cars converted so far. If anyone has experienced this problem, it may be due to incorrect installation or leaks in the evaporator (they won't show up with the special glasses under the hood, so they're rarely found).

I've
heard that the old systems dont get as cold with the r134a. You can use the
stuff called freeze 12. If your POA valve is still good, you dont have to
convert it over to the receiver drier/expansion tube setup. Just flush out the
expansion valve and replace the accumulator and fill her up with the oil and
freon. If it is all apart and you dont know what is good and what is not, you
might just want to change it over to the receiver drier setup and still use the
freeze 12. The guy at the automotive refrigeration place I went to , said
that the receiver drier changeover kit would be about $165 plus
freon,accumulator and labor.

  Hey Rob!
Everyone must be working on their
  cars.
I have a question. I want to re-install and fill
my A/C unit. I need to convert it to R134. Does anyone have information about
what I need to due. I have been told that the expansion value will have to be
removed and replaced with an accumulator unit. Does anyone have information I
need to fill and change out my system.
