The Malibu 400 was a big block Malibu but NOT a SS. This one (http://www.chevellestuff.com/72velle/gallery/malibu_400.htm) belongs to Fred Roberta Greer and can also be seen at their website at http://members.shaw.ca/malibu400/. They came with the optional LS3 (402-4/240hp) and called a 400 instead of a 396 or 402 even though it's a big block. The Greer's car is a superb example! Diane The model 400 Malibu,was a non SS car,wagon,4 door,2 dr Ht ect ,that was ordered with the 402 big block in it.We still have a one owner 72 convert in town here that has been dragged since day one,and it was a factory order 402/turbo and still wears the Malibu 400 on the front fenders. Rocky; I used Lens handle at Team Chevelle, (Guess I need to start my own) and got no replies to the paint question. Thankfully Carl is looking into it for me. Thanks for the advice though. :-Diane
[Chevelle-list] Chevelle special effects paint
Carl; Rocky; I looked at Team Chevelle with no luck on paint answers to my questions. I need the steering wheel centers black paint that looks like vinyl when applied. I have a perfect picture but can't post it here. Send me your emails and I will send you a photo. I also need the rough textured paint for the chrome headlight rings that make the SS have raccoon type eyes, instead of the solid chrome look. I think its specific to 71-72 model Chevelles. Diane, Your not going to find that answer just laying around the site, You need to go to the Tech Forum section, than go to the paint and body forum, and post your question! There are 13000+ regestered users on Team Chevelle. All you have to do is ask, and I'm sure you will get your answer.
