Down
here in Central America (KY) g gas is $1.65 for regular unleaded. Went
up 30 cents in a week. It all goes back to the suppliers and by the time
everyone who handles it adds what they think it will cost to put the next load
in their tank it gets up there. I think we are being taken advantage of
too. If you want to complain call the Energy Dept Gas Price Hotline at
800-244-3301.. Call your congressmen too..

[Chevelle-list] Gas in Arizona

2003-08-25 Thread Brad Waller
I'm leaving tomorrow for Arizona and wonder if the situation has
improved at all. We drive from LA to Phoenix Monday, and then continue
to Sierra Vista Tuesday, then up to Scottsdale Friday. I figure gas
will have stabilized by Friday, so my big concern is tomorrow. What is
the situation in the Phoenix area?

Well, the good news is that in my neck of the woods gas is available.
There aren't any lines anymore at the pump.

The bad news is the prices still suck. The range of prices I'm seeing
in the west valley is $2.09-$2.15/gal for unleaded ($2.29+ for Super).
I've heard that in the downtown area and in the east valley prices are
even worse than that.

Great! My big worry was long lines (with a 4 year-old) or searching
for a station with gas. I figure I'll fill up in Quartzite and can
make it all the way to Tucson anyhow. The prices are fine, I just paid
$2.07 for regular here...

Its about 2.05 to 2.17 here on the east side of the valley. If you need gas
heading from Phoenix to Tucson, I would time it so you can fill up in Casa
Grandeits about 1.69 down there. I will probably be taking all of my
cans with me there tomorrow while I am visiting relatives. I heard that gas
is cheaper wherever you go once you leave the valley/ Phoenix metro area.
Happy motoring.
