Your message was great until I read for now. It is a 3hp starter and I was told that 
it would be more than enuff. I guess I'll have to wait and see. If not, then I'll go 
with a shield. Is it when they get a little older they become more suseptible to heat 
even on a gear driven starter or is it the solenoid? I guess I'll live and learn.
