[Chevelle-list] Lead additive?

2008-06-24 Thread Dan Rachlin
I'm sure most of you don't need it. But for those of you who do, where are
you getting it from? Is there a place we can order a case or something? I
have a 66 396 that was rebuilt, but the builder left the heads alone and
said that the seats were in good so to remove them would cause more
problems. So until I can get the heads done again, I need to add lead
additive to my fuel and need to get some.
Thanks for any help.

You really don't need to put a lead additive in the gas because the heads have
the original valve seats. The seats themselves will harden over time just from
being an in service car. I just run plain old unleaded 87 Octane in my 69 with
the original engine in it.
