[Chevelle-list] Wheels & tires

2006-04-29 Thread Herb Lumpp
Does anyone need or want to buy a set of four Centerline billet wheels and
BFG tires? Sizes are 15 x 8 (4" backspace) with two 245/60-15 and two
255/60-15 tires. The tires are in fair/ok condition and could be used for a
while if need be. I can send pictures to anyone interested. Price you ask?
Make me an offer.

Re: [Chevelle-list] Wheels/Tires (Again!)

Yeah, I was able to find lots of info on Team Chevelle. It just seemed no
one running a 315 tire was going as low as I am.

My only problem with waiting is that I don't have wheels that will fit over
my new brakes. I'm going to need to take the frame to the body shop for
test fitting pretty soon. I suppose I could take the caliper off the
fronts and might be able to squeeze the 15" rally's back on?

I should probably just be patient and wait as you suggest.

Thanks.

there's no sense pushing your luck.
FWIW,this subject has been discussed many times on the Team Chevelle wheel &
tire forums.

[Chevelle-list] Wheels/Tires (Again!)

2004-04-05 Thread Matthew Post
Sorry, I know we've been over this many times and I've looked at the
archives again and searched Team Chevelle, but I'm still unsure the
wheel/tire combo I want will work. For one, the body is currently off the
frame and the car is going to be pretty low. Here's what I have:

69 Chevelle Coupe
GW Uppers and lowers up front w/Baer 13" Discs and tall spindles
2 inch drop springs up front
Moser 12 bolt rear w/3 inch drop springs
Total of 3 inch drop on all corners
So here's what I'm thinking:
front: 17 X 9.5 w/5.75" bs and 275/40s
rear: 17 X 11 w/6" bs and 315/35s
I installed the rearend yesterday and measured as best I could without
brakes installed. I looks like 6 inch back space would work fine. I'm
considering more. Maybe 6 1/8 or ???

Any and all comments are appreciated. Some reassurance for this setup
would make me feel better before spend the $$$ and ordering the wheels!

Thanks!
