thank you for all the mice help!!!

Has any one tried the 5- gallon bucket with about 3 antifreeze on the
bottom, a board as a ramp to the top and a pop can with peanut butter on a
string from side to side?

Apparently the mouse goes up the ramp, across the string, and gets on the pop
can to eat and it turns, dumping Mickey into the antifreeze which drowns
them???

Iwrote about this a few months ago. Mice need water. Put water in a
bucket about half way. Make it easy to get to top of bucket. They will try to
drink and will fall in.Oh my they can't swim and they drown. Using anti
freeze could be in harms way if you have a cat or dog. Almost any large
container will work. I
then send them to the Great Sewage Pond aka Down the Toilet.

I run a large ag chemical and seed facility, and we do have mice and rats
from time to time. Moth balls help, but are not perfect by themselves. We have
tried peanut butter, but apparently we have discerning mice. Juicy fruit gum on
a trap works from time to time, but the best to date have been the sticky or
glue traps laid around the perimeter of the warehouse..again not perfect, but
the best thing we have found to date!

Re: [Chevelle-list] mice

2005-03-09 Thread gregg . pacelli

This is a tough problem. Keep the area were you store the car as clean as
possible, remove food sources.
I put poison out at various locations were kids and pets can't get to it. I
also put a small tray with moth balls behind each tire on the ground and
one in the trunk. Cover the ends of your exhaust pipes with aluminum foil.
As a last resort I have several ultrasonic pest repellers plugged in around
the garage.
I live out in the country and my shop/storage area is spotless, I still get
mice occasionally. Some say get a cat, but they like to climb all over
everything and urinate.
I may spend the bucks to get one of those storage covers that zip up like a
bag, but I like the cars to be able to breathe a little...

Moth balls is the best bet...
I was told to crush into powder and pour the inside perimeter, along the
walls
And the mice wont even come in

This is a tough problem. Keep the area were you store the car as clean
as
possible, remove food sources.
I put poison out at various locations were kids and pets can't get to
it. I
also put a small tray with moth balls behind each tire on the ground and
one in the trunk. Cover the ends of your exhaust pipes with aluminum
foil.
As a last resort I have several ultrasonic pest repellers plugged in
around
the garage.
I live out in the country and my shop/storage area is spotless, I still
get
mice occasionally. Some say get a cat, but they like to climb all over
everything and urinate.
I may spend the bucks to get one of those storage covers that zip up
like a
bag, but I like the cars to be able to breathe a little...

I have had mice problems in the past - what a stinky mess, fortunately they
never got in the car. Mice are good jumpers and can fit through a hole the
size of a dime.

My precautions have seemed to work. Remove or store all food sources in
containers, ie. pet food, bird seed etc. Store all rags, blankets and
towels in metal or plastic bins, this eliminates nesting materials. Keep
area clean and organized eliminating the dark corners and cubby holes they
like to seek out. Use aluminum foil or steel wool to plug up ends of
exhaust pipes. Mine come straight out the back so I slip two empty soup
cans over the ends. I use ultra sonic plug ins and have several live traps
baited with Cerrios. Live traps becuase of dog and small kids.

I've had good luck catching mice in the garage using peanut butter as the
bait on the old wooden wire mouse traps. The more they lick it, the sooner
they GET IT !!! :)

Harlan: we live on a farm in Okla. ,and always have mice,we have found that moth cakes or a sack of moth balls under the hood will keep the mice out.just a pain to have to take them out everytime you want to drive the car.IT WILL work for sure. bob

take away the water supply and food, and if you can plug up where they
hide, i agree a catis not the best choice
