[Chevelle-list] spitting battery
My battery is not a maintenance free style and splits small amounts acid from the caps and after a drive it makes a perculating type sound. The cells are not over filled. Is it just time for a new battery or is it avoltage regulator issue or something else. Thank you for the advice Krister Meister '66 SS #'s

Hello:it is possible that the battery is venting because of a slight overcharging condition.Check and verify that the system is not overcharging.- Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Chevelle List Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 1:29 PM Subject: [Chevelle-list] spitting battery My battery is not a maintenance free style and splits small amounts acid from the caps and after a drive it makes a perculating type sound. Re: [Chevelle-list] spitting battery
I had/have the same problem. The alternator rebuilder said to check my grounds - can't have too many grounds. Haven't driven enough miles to confirm that the problem has gone away. I have battery to engine/body/frame.
