Re: [Chevelle-List] '71 Chevelle 4-speed Drive shaft

you can use a driveshaft from any TH350 car or one with a 10 bolt rear. The length is the same as a 4 speed car, you would have to use a "junk joint" if it was a 10 bolt rear car. The u joint caps on a 10 bolt rear are smaller than a 12 bolt if i am not mistaken. They make a joint with 2 different caps, one to fit the TH350 shaft 12 bolt rears. This is what i have on mine, except I had to have the TH350 shaft shortened to accomodate the TH400 tranny

I have
an old drive shaft from a '71 Malibu, Saginaw 4 speed, that I couldn't balance
properly. I had a local shop make me a new drive shaft using the old one as a
template. If you want to do the same thing, I can give you the old drive shaft.
I'm in Scotia, NY.
