Lol!  I'm in the same situation.  I put a new 350 in this year with the
Q-Jet 1904 (for the same reasons) and at the same time rewired the car.
Everything's working as it should except the gas gauge.  It works until
there's approx. 1/4 of a tank left, then the needle starts bouncing
around for about 10 miles, then it goes up to full until I run out of
gas.  If you don't see it bouncing around at 1/4 left, you're screwed,
as I found out last night on the freeway.

If I ground the tan wire that goes to the sender will
the gauge read full or empty ?
I have checked the ground wire at the tank.
Seems like my gas gauge likes to say full after my 383
motor install with the Q-Jet 1904 (everybody said that carb would get
great gas mileage), maybe my tank will overflow?

But the other day after reading full it started to jump from full to
empty & took 18 gals to fill.
