Re: [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend
If this is the case... then real simple... yell a couple of curse words into the phone hang up. Do not try again :P Order from another company or person. I was looking through their catalog a few days ago pondering who to order some fenders and numerous other items for my 68. After these posts... I won't order from them... that it unfair, illegal, and all around screwing the customer. I would much rather deal with someone else. I can understand a business not up dating their catalog for every price change but there is no reason their web site should not reflect the price changes. Nino and Ken for the guys on this list. As you are well aware, good help is hard to find these days. This industry is no exception. Ground Up are good people and will do whatever it takes to make sure their customers are taken care of and taken care of right. Too bad you got one of the flunkies. So as Tom said next time you order from Ground Up ASK for Nino or Ken... if they arent available hang up and call back. Re: [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend
Thanks Tom, I am an ACES and Team Chevelle member as well and I mentioned it. His answer "you need to tell me that before you place your order" He did however eventually give me my 10% discount for being a member after I specifically ask for it. Don't know who I talked to. I'll keep in mind that Ken and Nino are the men in the future. What is really upsetting, as I said before, is basing the shipping on the price of your purchase, not the size, weight, and destination. All the items I ordered were small, light, and expensive. Craig, I've found NPD to be cheaper on many parts as compared to Year One or Ground Up but they many times turn out to be inferior parts. At other times they are the exact same quality and at a substantial savings. Now the big problem, you never know until they're on your door step :) Trooper [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Trooper > > Who did you talk to? Trooper Who did you talk to? I'm just going to throw this out to everyone on the list. if you call Ground Up, make sure you talk to Ken or Nino. They will take care of you. The people that generally answer the phone are only good if you have part numbers and ready to order without any questions. If a conflict arises, talk with one of them. Ken is a very good man to deal with and I have never had any problems with them. Also if you talk to Ken he will more than likely give you the actual ship charges anyway if you bring it up. Being a Team Chevelle/ACES member is a plus too :-). Also, prices do tend to fluxuate depending on where the market is. Price increases are not uncommon in this industry as I have found out over and over again. Just my opinion. RE: [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend
I've had the same experience that you and Brad have had but with National Parts Depot. Surprise price hikes, high shipping costs, poor part quality (compared to OEM) and indifferent service. I think they are all doing SO well they've copped an attitude. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Trooper Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 2:05 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Chevelle-List] Ground Up follows trend Having just read the article about price differences on the internet as compared to what they are charging when you call them up, I placed an order with Ground Up today. I ordered two parking break cables. One listed in their 2002 catalog for $85.00 and the other for $24.95. At the end of the order the numbers weren't right so I asked the guy the read them back for me. When he got to the cables he says $89.00 and $26.95 respectively. I question him and his exact response was "That's a new catalog and we threw it together real fast so some of the prices aren't right". I ask if he would honor the listed prices and he said no. I ask twice for shipping charges and he couldn't give them to me. His answer "should be around 10% of the cost of the items purchased". Since when does shipping cost have anything to do with the price of an item. I thought it would be dependent on weight, size, and destination, SILLY ME!!!
