i have the B&M pro stick in my 66 and i love it, but it does not have the 
ratchet action you want. for that i would recommend the B&M mega shifter

Michael,
 I really like the feel of a Pro Stick.  I don't think they are the best 
looking piece.  I hid one in the console of my sbc bmw conversion.  I have 
used Quicksilver and currently Megashifter in my 70 Chevelle.  They work ok 
and look a little better.
