Use 3M Super 77 adhesive. Comes in a black
spray can. This stuff was made for this. It will bond ANYTHING and it's
removable. I could only find it in the paint store. I use it for
everything.

  Gents,

In order to keep momma happy, and not drive myself crazy on long
drives, I would like to keep the car relatively quiet inside. I know I can
do this with quiet mufflers, but like the idea of the kit from FlowMaster or some other kit as I want new pipes from
front to back. Looks to me like this kit only comes with
one muffler model if I am reading this
  right.

  I'd still like to
have a little rumble and don't want to restrict my big block too much
either. So I am thinking about putting in that sound deadening insulation
under the carpets and inside the doors and firewall. How do you get this
stuff to stick on a vertical surface for long term? Anyone use it? What do
  you think about it?

I got sick and tired of spending $12 per can on the super 77, so I looked
for an alternitive. The local industrial fabric shop sells a knock off brand
for $6.50. Works perfectly, cant tell the difference, even has the cool
adjustable nozzle. It is worth looking into concidering how many cans you go
through.

Hey Steve,

If you're going to use Dynamat, you may be interested to know
that it comes in a spray can too.  It's not as thick as the mat they make,
but it's probably better for vertical surfaces such as inside doors and above
the headliner. HTH.

2002-04-27 Thread Michael Pell

I've ordered some DynaMat sound deadener.  It's very thin, and is
supposed to be great for under carpet, behind panels, etc.
See it at http://www.dynamat.com/  . I'm getting mine from Trever
at www.autoobsession.com.
I notice the Dynamat original requires heat to work, but the Dynamat
Extreme does not.  I think the 'extreme' refers to the cost!
You should also ensure that you have all the oringal sound deadener
and insulation; under carpet, firewall, kick panels, headliner, etc.
Additionally, I'm putting the Dynamat behind my door panels, rear interior
side panels, and under/behind my back seat.
I also put the original style underlayment under my carpet.
Hopefully all of this will quiet down the inside a bit.  I don't
yet have the firewall or kick panel insulation, but may consider it.
Good luck,
