I ordered the GW setup. I know there is better, but they gave me a $600
discount..I have checked into the ATX spindles, but they are not ready for
sale, and..I would have to upgrade my mags. Too much for one time! I'm not
quite as rich as you are Clint..GRIN. The ATX spindles will run close to
$800 a piece, plus I would still need to upgrade the A arms! Oh well.I can
cry later.

I also found out I need to upgrade to a 12:1 steering box. Any suggestions
on who to get it from or get my old one reworked. Plus some mods on my rear
axle for the upgraded Wilwood rear brakes.

You were correct, about their being some sharp folks on Lateral G. Thanks
for the recommendation.

I'm also using an AGR box and so far so good, except it does squeal when I
reach the limit of its span. I got mine from Summit.

According to a post I just read on Pro-Touring.com,the ATS spindles were
quoted at $625/pair for a 1st Gen F-body. I emailed the builders to give me
a price quote on a A-body spindles.(basically the same thing) What's
keeping

me from buying a pair now is the fact I would have to sell my Baer C4 Vette
brakes and buy C5 or C6 stuff. I'll probably wait till the new Z06 brake
parts become more readily available and then do it all at one time.
My recommendation for a good steering box would be AGR out of the Dallas
area. Maybe someone can post their contact information as I can't seem to
find their business card, right now. If anyone else is running another good

2005-11-24 Thread Dan Mascheck

Clint,

Ill call AGR Monday. I have had too many positive comments
about them online. I also like the idea they are in Texas.

Flaming River is higher priced. What I was talking about was that Summit could not sell the product for the same price or
less than what Flaming
 River showed online!
Surprised me! Flaming River must have a poor dealer network. I also called some
local folks in the Houston
area that are dealers. The prices they quoted were all over the place. Some,
actually cheaper than Summit and Flaming River. The problem was none have
the items in stock and Im sure there would be other hidden costs like
freight. The only problem with AGR is taxes, being in state and freight.

I looked at Flaming
 River for a tilt column.
I also looked at Ididit, they didnt seem to have everything I needed. I
was thinking about a telescoping tilt wheel, but then decided to get the plain
tilt wheel. Im planning on getting the cruise control as well!

Do you know of someone with a better Tilt Column? I need to decide before
Monday!

I'm surprised the Flaming

talked to both reps at the Goodguys shows last months. AGR quoted me $320 for
their 12.7:1 box and FR wanted almost $500 for their variable ratio box.

but Flaming River was cheaper direct. I called Summit and they thought
they could meet or beat the price. He put me on hold, and..the Summit Rep said he could
not meet the price!! STRANGE! I went with Flaming River
to make sure all items matched!

The ATX spindles were higher priced than $625, when I called them for an
A-body spindle, plusthey were not available and wouldnt be for
some time! You also had to used bigger mags..I went with GW and their
Cat 5 system. Call me stupid, but Ill give it a try. If its poor,
Ill be the first to say I was stupid!(GRIN) I do believe the ATX spindles
are the ultimate way to go!! I would like to see them have a little use before
