Subject: [Chevelle-list] Coming Out

I have been lurking on this list for a couple of years now, living
vicariously, and learning through the Chevelle escapades of this group.

I can not take it any longer. It's time for me to confess. I am
a Chevelleaholic, there is no more denying it. I had my first Chevelle
at 16 a 1969, and got my second at 18 a 1972.

This car was near mint, and needs a short description. I can only
remember 2 small paint imperfections.

1972 Chevelle Malibu 42,000 mi
350 CI (stock original)
Factory 4 speed (no console)
Orange w/black vinyl top
Black interior
Bucket Seats

I ended up wreaking my 72 driving home one night after work. Needles
to say I was devastated. I never replaced the Chevelle feeling it would
be impossible.

Now this gets really strange, I started having dreams that the Chevelle
was back and not wreaked. I would be driving it and looking it over,
only to wake up with this awful feeling, after realizing it was
just a dream. These dreams continued until, a couple of years ago.
This was about when, I joined this list and realized the need for
another 72 Chevelle like the one I had.

Ideally, if I can find a Chevelle that fits the above description,
it would be my dream Chevelle. I have been looking for such a Chevelle.
I came very close. I would have needed to convert the tranny over
and put in bucket seats, but missed out on the deal.

This is where I need your help. If you have or know of a Chevelle
that fits, (I would be willing to make the 2 mentioned changes to the
car) please email me.

Thanks
Walter

2003-12-04 Thread Fruhauf Kerry A SSgt 3 CS/SCBS
Search the internet. I found my 1969 online. It takes a bit of searching,
and when you find one you are interested in, if it's not close to you, let
the list know. I'd imagine any one of us would be willing to check it out
for you and let you know weather or not it's worth persuing. I had to drive
about 350 miles to get mine, and unfortunately, it was before I became a
member of the list, otherwise I would have asked for the favor myself. Most
the good people on the list have digital cameras, and could even provide
pictures for you, if ya ask nicely enough! If you find one for sale in
the Anchorage Alaska area, I'd be more than willing to help you out, but I
wouldn't hold my breath on finding one up this direction. The ones that are
up here, will probably never be for sale, the old muscle cars up here are
treated like gold!
