RE: [Chevelle-List] Blower relay
Just checked it out and found that one of the wires to the relay had fallen off which, when I plugged it in, the high fan came back on. Also, when I was poking around those wires, it looked like that fesed wire had a nick in it and was showing bare wire. I think it was grounding out and stopping the fan. I will replace the section of wire when I get home. Thanks for helping me figure it out. Its great to have so many knowledgeable people on the list. The High blow is run off a special fuse located by the blower relay. One thing that happens is the connector for the relay will sometimes overheat break apart causing shorts etc.. On my 72, its on the firewall between the dizzy and the heater core. It got 3 wires and one is a thick orange one. It could also be your blower motor seizing and causing the relay to overheat and shutting off.
