Re: [Chevelle-List] New Chevelle club forming in South-West Ohio
How bout Tri-State Chevelles? Don Dwight, I was wondering if we might get some Eastern Southern Indiana interest and maybe some Northern Kentucky interest as well. Since Dayton and Cinci are so close to the borders I can see where members of the tri-state area might be interested. H might have to reconsider the boundaries as well as the name. Any suggestions on how to include more guys like yourself and make them feel welcome? I helped start up a club in my home town and the very first thing that you need to do is get a tax id#... Second hold meetings and elect positions...each position has their own responsibility. I ended up not staying with the club for personal reasons between me and the pres. but that is another story. I also designed the logo for this club... While there is one club in Ohio already, it's farther than most of us in South West Ohio ( maybe northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana?)are willing to drive to attend meetings. The idea is to only recruit those unwilling/unable to join the current club in Columbus, and to be brother clubs to include combined cruise-ins. I am interested in talking to people that got new clubs off the ground, learn about club charter, rules, and the good, bad and ugly on affiliations. What are the benefits of talking to local businesses to your club? I am thinking that if we can get discounts for club members and provide information on what businesses can provide what services this would be a win-win. Any other advice and do's and don't 's would be appreciated. Thanks! Steve, While I can give you no real advice on starting a new club I do want to encourage you to proceed. I live in Indiana about 40 miles west of Dayton, OH. and would welcome a club closer to home. Please let me know if I can help. PS. The Paddock resto parts supplier is only about 20 miles from me they might be talked into helping, don't know for sure but it might be worth a shot.
