Krister,
Thanks for the input. The car is priceless to me and I think it is pretty cool that it has always been in my family. I see you have a ' 66, thats what my grandfather traded in for the 1969 I know have. He certainly had good taste in cars and it still makes me smile when I think of him buying that when he was 67 years old. I always loved that car and remember being a kid riding in the back. He loved to get on it, I think he liked to see how far he could bury me into the back seat. As far as the Butternut Yellow goes, it is different and I think it's actually beginning to grow on me. I don't know how many Chevelles got that color sceme but I don't remember seeing another one. Of course winters being harsh in Maine there aren't a lot of them left up here anyway. I also tell myself that the color is just another one of the oddities about the car. Some of the other strange things are the bench front seat, 3-speed Muncie (standard) on the floor, power brakes (disc front, drum rear) and NO power steering. My mind was already made up about keeping the color original to match the cowl tag, protect o plate, and interior trim broadcast sheets. I never did find the build sheet and unless it's above the headliner, it's either long gone or the car never got one. I looked everywhere for the darn thing but it's my understanding that I absolutely do not want to screw with the headliner (I hear they are a real bear to work with). Anyway, your 2 cents are always appreciated along with everyone else on the list.
