On this issue page, if you put your cursor such that the bar is on the vertical bar in the I of IE7: OK and then click and select to the right, Chrome won't select the I. Firefox and IE (and in my experience most Windows programs) do. Font size seems to have something to do with it; on http://proto-scripty.wikidot.com/ if I put my cursor perfectly in the middle of the vertical bar in the T in the subheading The unofficial Prototype script.aculo.us wiki and select to the right, it does include the T. I was able to resolve this, and allow Chromium to open normally again, by
editing the
file '~/.config/chromium/Local State' in a text editor and deleting this
section:

Once Chromium is started again, it returns to normal view and appears to
