New immigration plan breaks with White House

WASHINGTON - An influential Republican Senator introduced 
legislation on Tuesday that would allow many of the estimated 8 million to 12 
million illegal aliens in the United States to eventually gain legal status, in 
a proposal that broke with the Bush administration.
Nebraska senator Chuck Hagel, who is considering running for president in 
2008, put forward four separate bills to address border security, employment 
security, create a guest worker program and encourage those in the country 
illegally to apply for legal status.
"Immigration reform is an urgent national security priority. We cannot 
continue to defer making tough choices about our nation's immigration policy. It 
is not in our interest to have 8- to 12-million people undocumented and 
unaccounted for in our country," he said.
Hagel's bills represent the third major proposal making the rounds in 
Congress. Additionally, the Bush administration has been fleshing out its own 
plan, under which illegal immigrants and foreigners could apply under a guest 
worker program to work in the United States for up to six years. After that, 
they would have to return home.
Shortly after Hagel presented his legislation, Senate Majority Leader Bill 
Frist met with Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, 
sponsors of the two rival bills, and agreed to take up immigration legislation 
early next year.
Frist said they would start with border enforcement where there was a lot of 
agreement among lawmakers, and then try to move beyond that to deal with the 
millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States.
All the bills that have been put forward include measures to enhance border 
security and create some form of guest worker program. But they differ on the 
key points of how and whether illegal aliens could eventually gain 
citizenship.
Nobody knows exactly how many people are in the country illegally. The 2000 
Census estimated the number at 8.7 million and said it was growing by half a 
million a year. Others put the number much higher.
But the fact that hundreds of thousands of people continue to 
cross the Mexican border each year is fast becoming a major political and 
security issue.
In a CBS poll this week, just over half of respondents disapproved of the way 
President George W. Bush was dealing with immigration; 21 percent said they 
approved, and 26 percent said they did not know.
Three-quarters all respondents said they did not think the United States was 
doing enough along its borders to keep illegal immigrants from entering the 
country.
Under Hagel's proposal, illegal aliens who had been in the country for at 
least five years and had worked three of them could pay a $2,000 fine and apply 
for permanent legal status which they could get eight years later.
But Hagel acknowledged that immigration divided Republicans and might be 
difficult to move forward in the runup to what is expected to be tight and 
bitter election campaign to control Congress next year.

Yes, Bush does reverse the meaning of words like
freedom and democracy and patriotism and he does
employ twisted euphemisms to reverse perceptions
of evil to favorable, he does use his grandfather
Prescott Auschwitz Bushwhacker's nazi publicity man
Goebbels' Big Lie, etc, and that's all doublespeak.

Commercial free speech equals news censorship,
and de-regulation to allow concentration of media
ownership equates to regulation of our speech.
That's doublespeak.

Abolishing the death tax equates to raising taxes
for 99.5% of us. That was Bush's doublespeak.
Instead of advocating a farmer and small business
estate tax exemption, Bush cynically lied to make
it sound as if his exemption for half a percent
would lower our taxes. A point made in the
Orwell media documentary.

The Times has been getting away with this kind of 
thing for years.
 
Veteran researchers know that the New York Times is a transmission belt 
(mouthpiece) for the elite power structure in Washington and New York. It prides 
itself as being the “newspaper of record” for the country with its motto, “All 
the news that’s fit to print.” A more fitting title is the one given his book by 
former Times International editor Herman Dinsmore, “All the news that fits.” At 
any rate, the news that is emphasized in the Times is what the power structure 
wants the public to believe, whether or not it is true or merely 
diversionary.
 
Judith Miller should be fired, indicted, sent to jail (for ten to twenty 
years) and be stripped of her Pulitzer Prize. Others like Krugman and Rich 
deserve a similar fate. The Times credibility rating has sunk to the level (or 
below) that of what the Naational Inquirer used to be. - JR

One had to wonder whether corrections would eventually make 
up more of the paper than the stories themselves.  


The New York Times has begun a new correction policy for its editorial and 
op-ed pages. It came as a flurry of mistakes, large and small, cluttered the 
Times op-ed pages. One had to wonder whether corrections would eventually make 
up more of the paper than the stories themselves.
Among the recent offenses are Paul Krugman's columns of August 19th, 22nd and 
26th, in which he makes varying claims about the outcome of the Florida 
presidential election in 2000, and how "Two different news media consortiums 
reviewed Florida's ballots; both found that a full manual recount would have 
given the election to Mr. Gore." Poor guy must be counting hanging chads in his 
sleep.
With pressure from new-media types like Donald Luskin, who writes columns for 
National Review Online under the heading "Krugman Truth Squad," and Powerlineblog.com, the Times has been forced to publicly slap 
the wrists of not only Krugman but Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich.
The Times' public editor, Byron Calame, the subject of one of our recent commentaries, did his 
duty. Calame went after Gail Collins, the editor of the editorial page, over her 
treatment of Krugman: "in the opinion section of The Times, the corrections 
policy of Gail Collins, the editor of the editorial page, is not being fully 
enforced. As I have written on my Web journal, Paul Krugman has not been 
required to correct, in the paper, recent acknowledged factual errors in his 
column about the 2000 election in Florida." He criticized Krugman four times in 
columns for his failure to set the record straight.
It became so embarrassing that Editor & Publisher ran an article on 
October 1st that was headlined, "NY Times Finally Runs Full Correction on 
Krugman Column, Announces New Policy." On that day, in the print edition of the 
Times, Collins declared a new policy on noting errors on the editorial pages. 
>From now on, she wrote, the Times will run regular corrections and "for the 
record" explanations under the Times editorials. In that article, Collins 
described the situation regarding Krugman as a "correction run amok." She said 
that after publishing his third correction on the Internet version of his 
columns, Krugman asked "if he could refrain from revisiting the subject yet 
again in print. I agreed, feeling we had reached the point of cruelty to 
readers. But I was wrong. The correction should have run in the same newspaper 
where the original error and all its little offspring had appeared."
So in the October 1st corrections, they tried correcting it one more time. 
Krugman acknowledged he was wrong on how many of the recounts indicated Gore 
won, versus how many indicated Bush won, but this argument in his view ignored 
reality. It is "reasonably clear," Krugman wrote in one of his many corrections, 
"that the voters of Florida, as well as those of the United States as a whole, 
tried to choose Mr. Gore." Krugman's approach is to ignore the facts and make 
them up when necessary to make a political point. 
In her same column, Gail Collins tossed in another batch of errors. She 
pointed out a mistake made by Frank Rich, Maureen Dowd and twice by Paul 
Krugman. It is the claim that former FEMA director Michael Brown and his 
predecessor, Joe Albaugh, had been college friends or roommates, neither of 
which is true. In fact, they didn't go to the same college. This said nothing 
about FEMA's response but said a lot about Times' fact-checkers. Yes, others in 
the media were saying the same thing, but is that a standard the Times wants to 
live by? Apparently so.
In another case, just prior to John Roberts' confirmation as Chief Justice of 
the Supreme Court, there was a Times story by Adam Liptak critical of Roberts 
for his alleged position on libel laws. It claimed he had written a memo on the 
subject in the

October 25, 2005 -- Libby and Cheney links to global weapons 
smuggling cartel resulted in exposure of Brewster Jennings and 
Associates non official cover (NOC) network. CIA Leakgate also tied 
to AIPAC probe. CIA sources familiar with the Brewster Jennings and 
Associates NOC operation that worked for some ten years to counter 
the proliferation of nuclear weapons claim that the operation's 
cover was partially blown because of its success at removing Soviet 
era nuclear weaponry and materials such as high grade plutonium from 
the international weapons smuggling market. 

Vice President Dick Cheney's chief if staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby 
was once the lawyer for Marc Rich, the Swiss-based American fugitive 
who was pardoned by President Clinton and is linked to a number of 
Russian and Ukrainian organized crime figures who have exiled 
themselves to Israel to avoid prosecution.

Brewster Jennings and the CIA Directorate of Operations Counter 
Proliferation Division (CPD) had established a program to purchase a 
range of nuclear weapons components, including Inter-continental 
Ballistic Missile (ICBM) parts, nuclear warhead nose cones, and high 
grade plutonium and uranium bomb cores from Russian sources who were 
also selling to members of Russian Mafia networks who were, in turn, 
selling to the A. Q. Khan network in Pakistan and other WMD 
smuggling operations.



Brewster Jennings and CIA's CPD involved in purchasing Soviet nuke 
material from black market -- pitting them against the Russian Mafia 
and Scooter Libby.

The CIA's CPD agents were particularly worried about the materials 
for sale at the 70 square mile Russian nuclear weapons complex at 
Mayak, outside the town of Ozersk. In the late 1990s, black market 
high grade plutonium was being sold in buckets from warehouses in 
Mayak. For that reason, the CIA, using its Brewster Jennings NOC 
network as well as other contractors, purchased the black market 
materials from the nuclear "used car market," as a CIA source put 
it. The materials were transported to the Rocky Flats nuclear 
weapons plant in Colorado where they were dismantled and disabled.

This secret program became known to Mafia operatives active in the 
United States as early as 1999. CIA sources report that a well known 
neo-conservative figure at a Washington think tank received 
classified information about the Brewster Jennings/CPD operation via 
an espionage cell within the Department of Defense and passed it on 
to Israel, which, in turn, passed it to Mafia figures. Some of this 
information was contained in documents passed to the American Israel 
Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Israelis by indicted former 
Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Pentagon Near East and South 
Asia Division analyst Larry Franklin. The classified counter 
proliferation information was contained in classified documents 
on "terrorist activities in Central Asia." The AIPAC/Franklin 
espionage operation has been vigorously pursued by the US Attorney 
for Eastern Virginia Paul McNulty who was named last Friday as the 
new Deputy Attorney General.

When the Mafia oligarchs discovered the CIA purchase program was 
driving up the prices of the Russian surplus nuclear materials 
making them unprofitable for organized crime, they used their 
connections inside the Bush White House and Pentagon to expose the 
operation to eliminate the chief American interlocutors and give 
themselves a lucrative virtual monopoly by removing their 
competition and driving up the resale price of the nuclear material 
even further. A CIA source said the Mafia established a 
nuclear "hedge fund" on the Russian nuclear materials. A CIA source 
confirmed that Libby and his former client Rich are connected to 
Russian Mafia figures involved in nuclear smuggling.

After the Mafia discovered the identities of key Russian and other 
players involved with the CIA WMD purchase program, some of them 
were executed gangland style.

The Trilateral Commission's Aborted Deal with FM

The aborted deal of the CORPORATION INTERNATIONAL with the late Pres.
Ferdinand Marcos (better known as the Trilateral Commission) involved an
agreement in which the president was promised power for life and a guarantee
of an Investment Loan to be coursed through a Mini-Marshall plan to save the
failing Philippine economy. All these in exchange for his gold bullion.

The original document showing specifically how much gold Marcos kept at Fort
Knox was given to me by an emissary of President Marcos which I handed, in
trust, to Reynaldo Fajardo, who was supposed to write a book on this. This
was the very same document brought by Ambassador Philip Habib to Manila in
February 1986 for Marcos' signature. Marcos, however, didn't sign the
document because THE CORPORATION wanted the gold bullion for themselves
alone and merely offered to give him an investment loan in exchange. Soon
after, through Cardinal Jaime Sin's call for people support, and armed with
"Plan C," employing the Marxist principle "Religion is the opium of
society." EDSA People Power came to the fore. This marked the beginning of
Marcos' downfall.

A photocopy of these records was passed on to me by my friend, Col. Adex
Villalon (RES). Had Marcos known of an impending conflict between the
Philippine Government and his family, he could have immediately signed
Habib's document and could have lived happily ever after.

The following is the text of the Trilateral Commission's communique with the
late president Ferdinand Marcos under the letterhead, THE CORPORATION
INTERNATIONAL, brought by then U.S. Ambassador Philip Habib for F.M.'s
approval and subsequent signature. The deal turned sour because the
CORPORATION wanted to get everything, simply leaving Marcos a so-called
investment loan out of his total gold hoard. On my visits to Hawaii, Marcos
made it clear to me that he did not sign the document because, in his own
words "para akong pinirito sa sarili kong mantika" (I would have been fried
in my own lard). He further added that he had all those years, invested so
much of his time, expertise, strategies, and a lot of guts, just to
safeguard all the wealth which he intended to offer his countrymen's future
and that of our children's children. This was also the reason why he was
forced to leave Malacanang to regroup in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, but instead,
he claimed to have been kidnapped, taken by force and against his will by
the Americans and flown to Hawaii.

TV station banned over crash 
24/10/2005 13:41  - (SA)   

Abuja - Nigerian authorities have banned the private television station
whose reporters were the first to find the site where an airliner crashed
killing all 117 on board, the national broadcasting commission announced on
Monday. 

Reporters from Lagos-based African Independent Television (AIT) were the
first to reveal on Sunday that the Bellview Airlines Boeing 737 had come
down a short distance outside Lagos in the village of Lissa, a cocoa growing
area near President Olusegun Obasanjo's farm in Otta. 

Earlier, several Nigerian officials had incorrectly told journalists that
the crash site was in Kishi, a remote rural area 400km further north. AIT's
report allowed many reporters travelling to the scene to alter course and
head for the true location. 

Reports 'confusing' 

Despite this, a statement from the national broadcasting commission accused
Nigerian outlets in general of causing "confusion" in the international
media through their reporting. 

The statement also said AIT in particular had been guilty of a breach in
reporting standards in its depiction of dismembered bodies at the crash site
in a filmed report and in confirming that no-one had survived before
receiving an official statement to that effect. 

"The commission is constrained to order the temporary shut down of the
operations of Daar Communications Ltd, operators of AIT National and
International and Raypower FM stations, pending further professional
assessment of the status of their licences," the statement said. 

AIT television was off air on Monday, as was Daar's popular FM radio
station. 

A Daar executive said the station stood by its report and would be appealing
the ban, but would abide by the commission's decision until the dispute was
resolved.

  24, 2005 -- Another major espionage scandal brewing at the Pentagon? According 
  to Pentagon insiders, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has been the focus 
  of another espionage investigation. As with the espionage scandal involving 
  former DIA analyst Larry Franklin and the American Israel Public Affairs 
  Committee (AIPAC), the investigation of DIA has been plagued with external 
  political pressure because of the issue of possible dual loyalties of the 
  principal suspects. In the case of Franklin, the investigation involves 
  American citizens with close ties to Israel. In the other DIA matter,

  US Attorney for Eastern Virginia Paul McNulty has been described as a GOP foot 
  soldier. However, while serving as US Attorney for Eastern Virginia, McNulty 
  has been a thorn in the sides of the neo-cons. He aggressively investigated 
  and indicted Israeli Pentagon spy Larry Franklin and two former top officials 
  of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). His investigation of 
  others involved in transmitting highly-classified intelligence to Israel 
  continues.However, what is not generally known is that, aside from 
  AIPACgate, McNulty, like US Attorney for Northern Illinois (and Special 
  Prosecutor in Leakgate Patrick J. Fitzgerald), aggressively pursued another 
  case against a group of neo-cons involved in a criminal conspiracy.As 
  with Fitzgerald, whose investigation of Hollinger (the neo-con news

  treatment for billions of dollars in contracts. Druyun served nine months in
