Norgeson, Whatever is going on? Links in Communitarianism do not work. Did hear of this and followed a link to George Washington University. But did not know of any association of something called The Third Way. In the mid nineties The Third Way was hot and many sites on Internet. This was for areas to have own government, sustainable and very adoptable to own area/problems. If there was any international organization it was only for a few international problems, population etc. The Third Way had things such as peek-a-boo banking where any aid to an area would be tracked on Internet to the penny, no possibility of corruption. Then, within a few years, say 1999 to 2001, all this wiped from Internet and replaced with another Third Way which seemed contrived on the spot to replace/bury the first Third Way. What is this? I suggest we go on using words, but carefully develop contextual definitions. Communitarian is another term that may mean opposites in the mouth of Obama's, Amitai Etzioni's, or Hugo Chavez or Evo Morales. I did see some history of Third Way at those links. Here's a google link that leads into pro and con articles on communitarianism, Third Way, community policing. Raapana seems to miss that CIA puppet Jose Napoleon Duarte put forward his US neolib imperialist trojan horse under the name of Communitarianism, as in, Communitarianism for a More Humane World, a decade or two before Raapana says communitarianism arrived here. That makes it sound like Rios Montt's Verbo Villages, and Vietnam strategic hamlets, as just another synthetic ad hoc counter-insurgency cult religion. We would then have to compute whether Obama's communitarianism or Duarte's or Montt's or Amitai Etzioni's enfranchises or represses bedrock real people insurgencies that would make inroads against neolib utopian commercial interests. How would Obama's communitarianism relate to flexible workforce, crack sentencing inequity, prison-industrial complex as neo plantation, real bottom line locally of offshoring to get lower prices at Walmart, gentrification without a plan for poor people other than lock up the homeless, etc. Is communitarianism community policing just Phoenix databasing and gentrification same as El Salvador and Guatemala? -Bob
