[cifs-protocol] Status of SRX080902600070 (trusted domains overview) and SRX080909600334 (backing store / policy)

2009-03-02 Thread Bill Wesse
Andrew - I again thank you for your patience, on behalf of myself and our
documentation team.

SRX080902600070 [MS-ADSO]: LSA and trusted domains overview
A document improvement suggestion has been filed against '[MS-ADSO]: Active
Directory System Overview' with regards to the
'PasswordPolicyAndValidation.pdf' file I previously provided to you. The
improvement suggestion is to include the appropriate information within the
overview document.

SRX080909600334 [MS-AUTHSO] Backing store and policy application info
A document improvement suggestion has been filed against '[MS-AUTHSO]: Windows
Authentication Services System Overview' with regards to the
[SCENARIO_DOMAIN_TRUST].pdf file I previously provided to you. The improvement
suggestion is to include the appropriate information within the overview
document.

I will follow up this week with an updated [SCENARIO_DOMAIN_TRUST].pdf,
containing unencrypted network packet data. I regret I was not previously able
to provide the unencrypted packets; I just completed a significant amount of
work concerning test hotfix creation, as well as source research to locate
encryption control for the various protocols.

Unless you indicate otherwise, I will archive the above noted cases. It has
been a pleasure serving you in this matter. Thanks for helping us improve our
documentation!

Regards,
Bill Wesse

[cifs-protocol] [PFIF] NT Rename

2009-03-02 Thread Steve French
The description of NT Rename
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa302258.aspx) seems to be
orphaned. Shouldn't this simply be added to MS-SMB (and the
undescribed fields e.g. ClusterCount described)? I see reasonably
current Windows clients (e.g. WIndows XP and Vista) still send this.
