Monday, July 13, 2009 Rajab 19, 1430 AH Ullema declare suicide attacker out of Islam By Aziz Malik 'Pakistan Times' Federal Bureau Chief RAWALPINDI: A meeting of the the religious scholars was held at the Hassan Raza Complex here as about 150 religious scholars from Deuband school of thought and mohtamim from various Deuband institutions( religious Schools) belonging to Rawalpindi region including district Rawalpindi, Jhelum,Attock and Chakwal attended. The Regional Police Officer, RPO Nasir Khan Durrani chaired the meeting. The ullema were unanimous in their opinion that Islam totally rejects terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and does not allow its believers to harm any human being and there was no place for suicide attacker in Islam. The suicide attacker does not relate to Islam and being the killer of the innocent people, the religious scholars declared the suicide attacker out of Islam. The meeting was attended besides other ullema including Qazi Abdul Rashid Secretary General Wafaq ul Madaras Arabia Punjab, Maulana Gohar Islam, Qari Abdul Ghafar Touhidi, Qari Mohmmad Yaqoob, Mouvi Baz Khan,Moulana Abdul Rehman Usmani, Moualan Iqkhlaq Ahemd, Qari saeed Ahmed Muft Sher Khan, Qari Noor Alam, Qari Fafeez ur Rehman, Moualan Noor Mohammad, Moulana Ubaid ur Rehman, Mohammad Ameer Akram and Moualan Umer Jawad Qasmi. CPO Rawalpindi Rao Mohammad Iqbal Khan, DPOs of Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal and other senior officers of the region also attended the meeting. The Ullema were of the view that the suicide attack was big sin since Islam never promotes terrorism and forbids its believers to indulge such kind of inhuman activities. They said Islam is the religion of peace and believes in peace and security for all. They were of the view that the people involved in such heinous crimes against humanity have nothing to do with Islam. It was decided in the meeting that committee consisting of Ullema and Police officers should be constituted to look into the matters of religious schools (Deeeni Madaras) and resolve their problems with mutual consultation and suggestions. It was also decided in the meeting that students in the Madaras should not be allowed keeping mobile phones with them and also the Mohtamim and other concerned authorities in these Madaras should not allow strangers to stay in the Madarasa hostel or in the premises of the Madaras for security reasons to avoid any untoward situation.
