Re: [Cin] megapile 12 (freebsd, ffmpeg 5, dynamic build, opencv trim)
Checked into GIT, LV2 building changes + 4 additional to Calf LV2 plugins that I discovered while testing. They did not cause CinGG to crash EXCEPT when using the Calf LV2 plugins with an AppImage. When using from a self-build, they did not show up in Audio Effects but reported the error message on the terminal window of "unsupported lv2 plugin, missing audio input or output". 0052-Defend-against-missed-lv2-headers.patch 0054-Dynamic-termux-with-ogg.patch 0062-dynamic-lv2.patch 0063-termyx_dyn.sh-update.patch + lv2_blacklist.txt has additionally removed Calf plugins of Fluidsynth, Monosynth, Organ, and Wavetable This took me awhile to check the above and test so I hope it is correct. Working on a Status text file of the other megapile patches. -- Cin mailing list Cin@lists.cinelerra-gg.org https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/mailman/listinfo/cin

Re: [Cin] ac4 and ffmpeg
https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=122053.0 about E-AC3 but company's motives remained mostly same in last 25 years.. it seems Dolby wanted per-decoder license/fee, and got it... with literal 100s of millions of devices.. yeah, guess they can eat something not so cheap. not sure if any of this 3d audio will take off in near future, but at least hearing some broadcast from 202x might be important.. for historical reasons. [Cin] ac4 and ffmpeg
Probably not very relevant right now but apparently Dolby pushed their new ac4 codec as part of new digital TV standart.. so.. it might be encountered in new broadcasts. ffmpeg decoder was already written, but not in any release or even main tree see https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/8349 and last comment pointing at recent-ish rebase https://github.com/makrsmark/FFmpeg/commits/ac4 if I understand correctly only mpeg transport stream currently supported as container, and not, say, mp4. -- Cin mailing list Cin@lists.cinelerra-gg.org https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/mailman/listinfo/cin
