Did you try to :
- select 1 frame using the [ and ] buttons, before the media you want to
  move
- go to the compositor, and you can use the x key to remove 1 frame
  several times.
  
It works while the video is played. Unfortunately, it's not possible to
paste 1 frame (is that a bug?) using the v key. The paste silence
"Shift-space" do not works either. So, you can move the media on the
left, but not on the right. You have to go back to the main screen to do
that.
