[CinCVS] HDV to DVD

2006-12-12 Thread Marcin Kostur

Hey

How to generate optimal DVD-compatible mpeg2
from HDV 1080i project? I would like to preserve
interlacing - and it is PAL (50i).

I am looking for a nice working pipe YUV4MPEG stream,
rather than cin internal export.

The best

[CinCVS] libmjpegtools in ubuntu packages

2006-12-12 Thread Jeroen van de Nieuwenhof
When installing cinelerra from the muzzol repo, it depends on the
package mjpegtools0 which is in the marillat repo. But there is a
package called libmjpegtools0c2a in the Ubuntu multiverse repo. Both
have version 1.8.0. Isn't it better to use the official Ubuntu package
and change that in the repo from muzzol?

Jeroen

 Dear Users,

I have edited my first clip in HDV with proxy-files workflow.
the idea is to have a project with HDV files AND some rescales copies
(i used 50% mjpeg) of them as resources. Editing was done with
mjpegs and then project file was appropriately modified to use HDV-s.
I will describe in details this process in near future!

It worked fine. DV-speed of editing and HDV output.

for results  look at marcin.glidingcontest.org :: Norma(lization)

 There were few issues:

 - xml from cinelerra is not valid xml
 - for some reason when editing mjpegs, the fade transition in OpenGL
did not work in RGBA and YUVA modes. It worked, sometimes with
color models without Alpha. Strange!

But still it is a success story. I think that such proxy could be once
 built in
cinelerra. I should not be difficult. I DO NOT SEE any changes to get
 resonable
 speed with MPEG2 1080i soon

Interesting: OpenGL was a crucial element as my project, even with proxies
was always 1440x1080 and camera_z was set to 2.0. Try it in soft

 The best

I'd rather have that, I've not had good experiences with mixing marillat and

i can't reproduce this...
you will have to use gdb and at least try to report which thread in
which function crushes... if you can compile it with debug symbols ,
then even better

i currently don't have time for this, even if it is analyzed, so maybe
someone else can fix this

When I press a Undo button cinelerra starts eating memory and swap and
