I am sooo frustrated right now with cinelerra and ubuntu. What used to be a lean mean editing machine is now completely unpredictable. I compiled and installed cinelerra from scratch and STILL get wierd things going on ( can't attatch effects to a video track, takes forever sometimes to click on the menus and have them appear, can't set the Z on the projector or camera...argg!!) I even tried it with the extra startup args that hermann sent and there are still the same problems. > you can use ubuntu packaging (only i386) adding to your sources list this: > > deb http://stream.hangar.org/~vale/ubuntu32 ./ thanks for that. BTW, I still have your login here on my 64bit machine if you need it for building and testing. -august. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

i just build cinelerra on a ubuntu 32 and made package as well, everything seems fine. I build cinelerra on aubuntu64 system as well last weak, and everything seems works fine (but didn't make package, i can if needed..). you can use ubuntu packaging (only i386) adding to your sources list this: deb http://stream.hangar.org/~vale/ubuntu32 ./ Baci Vale Hi, I've installed a fresh hardy and cinelerra from scratch, and now some menus work then dont work (ex: preferences) and i find that is lower than under gutsy !! I'm continuing the test later... Rapha Andreas Hermann Braml a écrit : Hi! Does someone have any ideas on what doing? At the moment the only option I see is cancelling Hardy and reinstalling Gutsy. You could try to start Cinelerra with LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=true Cinelerra It does still seem to behave oddly from time to time, that is: some widgets still freeze (at least for me). But you could at least try. I have a separate partition with Gutsy for everything Cinelerra, although I keep coming back to Hardy to see if things have improved (with new updates for kernel/XCB etc.). But others have their Windows gaming partition, so I don't really care for the added complexity as long as it works.
