For some reason when I create a mask on one frame, let say in the shape of a

How do you make Cinelerra keep the same mask size for each frame.

Please help! Your friendly noob.

Thanks for those links Gour! They are perfect and exactly what I was

I guess the next step is to hunt down all the tutorial creators and

anyone have any suggestions as to how I could go about finding

[CinCVS] Masking Questions

2007-11-20 Thread Dale Jovan Thomas
Scott,

I think i understand the masking a little better, but my problem is that
when I create a mask it is attached to every frame.

Is there a way to apply masks to certain frames only? All I want to do is
blur out certain sections of certain frames, but I cannot figure out how to
keep the mask on only the frames I select.

I think also my other problem is that my frames are not identical, because I
create a mask for one area, when it moves to another frame, the mask retains
it's position, but the blur spot is elsewhere.

[CinCVS] Cinelerra tutorial consolidation project

2007-11-20 Thread Dale Jovan Thomas
Hey Scott and Cinelerra community,

Thanks for getting that information from Alex. I would like to ask the
community a broader question.

I would like to spearhead a Cinelerra tutorial collection and restoration
project. Let give you a simple outline:

1. Collect tutorials that were lost in translation (as was the case with
Alex's Masks Tutorial)

2. Collect other tutorials

3. Publish all these tutorials on one central website or place them in a
wiki format (I do not how to do wiki's, I would need a little help)

I will pay for the site hosting and domain name of the website. I guess it
could be something like www.cinetutorials.org or something of that effect.

The only things I would need from the community are:

1. Emails and contact information to tutorial creators and or maintaners. So
that I could make document requests from them.

2. Review and critiques of the site, for web usability and etc.

3. Discussion and ideas.

Hopefully this repository can serve as a one stop place, to get all
Cinelerra tutorials, it can also be set it up for folks to submit to new
ones. I guess that is where the wiki format comes into play.

I think a site like this will be critical for the upcoming release of
Cinelerra 3 :-).

Hey Scott,

Thanks for the tip, I actually had to view my overlays, and it was there I
noticed that I had all my assests disabled, I enabled them and I got my

Another question for the group:

Is it possible to add an affect to a certain section of a frame? For example
say if you had a tree with a house in the background in your frame, and you
want to blurt out the tree and not the house. Is that possible in Cinelerra?

Hello Aaron and Joe,

When it finishes the configure script it says all of the libraries are
found. That is what is weird about the output I gave you from, I could
not understand why something would be turned off if I had it installed.

I am compiling on a pretty dated system but here are the specs:

Ubuntu Studio (FF 7.04)

Here is a library listing at the end of the configure script.

It seems you have everything you need, what sort of build failure are you
encountering? does it make? If not what is the make error. Also are you
building from svn or using the heroines upstream edition. AMD Duron is a 64
bit laptop? I've had problems with 64 bit builds and had to use ./configure
--with-external-ffmpeg option after of course building ffmpeg from source.
