Re: [CinCVS] Re: [Cinelerra-commits] r1007 - in trunk/hvirtual: . libmpeg3/video
I was running into the same error, until I disabled mmx. I finally was able to compile Cinelerra with AMD64 ubuntu, for the first time ever, before I always had to muddy up my repositories with stuff from Debian unstable that made upgrading a pain and installing certain software from repositories difficult. Does anyone know if MMX optimizations will make enough of a performance difference that I should try recompiling with the fix. I will check my logs to see if I used --with-pic, I think that I did. > for what its worth > svn up && ./autogen.sh && ./configure --enable-mmx --with-pic && make > does *not* work on my amd 64 / ubuntu box right now. > > > ffmpeg/libavcodec/.libs/libavcodec.a(fdct_mmx.o): relocation > R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a > shared object; recompile with -fPIC > > ffmpeg/libavcodec/.libs/libavcodec.a(fdct_mmx.o): could not read > symbols: Bad value > > did not look into it but must be a change after my patch from earlier > this year. > > j > > ___ > Cinelerra mailing list > Cinelerra@skolelinux.no > https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra > ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
[CinCVS] Simple Question: Deinterlace Raw DV footage ?
Hi, I'm working on a video of Comfest (free music fest) in central ohio, and I am trying to use Cinelerra to edit everything. I had been using Final Cut Express but I couldn't stand it. So I started editing today and I noticed that all of the video had a line edge to all of the parts that had movement. This wasn't happening with Final Cut, so I am trying to figure out why the line distortion happens, if this is a product of DVgrab, or just the way that the codec interprets the video. I used deinterlace and it seems to fix the problem. Ok, so I did the proper thing and read Wikipedia and found out the glory of "mouse teeth" or tearing, but I'm still wondering the specifics of this as it applies to Cinelerra. I plan on editing this video so that it can be displayed via DVD. Should I just add the Deinterlace effect to the whole video ? Should I just assure the person I'm working with who knows less than me that this is fine, it'll be all right in the end, it's just because the video is interlaced, and not due to capturing the footage with a different camera or DVgrab and that it can be fixed with a simple deinterlace effect ? Just anybodys tips and tricks would be appreciated, if someone wants to point out a place I didn't find then let me know. Thanks for any help. robbt ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
[CinCVS] Background Rendering causes Blank Compositer viewer
Hey everybody. I got Cinelerra running again off of the Vale repositories with Ubuntu & AMD64 and it rendered something properly. So I'm pretty excited. In order to get it running I basically used a bunch of the Debian 64 repositories and also installed the Debian unstable libasound 10.0.12 because ubuntu is using 10.0.11. I think there were a few others I had to port over. But the point of this message was I noticed the background rendering was causing the Compositor view to show black rather than updating the viewer. I noticed this red line creeping over the timeline and where it reached there was no longer video available in the compositer. So I unchecked background rendering and I was able to see all parts of the video again. Is this normal behaviour or do I have to choose a location for the background render for it to work rather than just erasing the view from compositor ? Thanks for any help. [CinCVS] Cinelerra gives symbol undefined error after compilation
Hi everybody. I just tried to compile Cinelerra for my machine since the debian package wasn't rendering correctly. Now I'm getting this symbol undefined error. cinelerra: symbol lookup error: cinelerra: undefined symbol: _ZN13BC_WindowBase12create_xatomEPc I was getting a similar error when I tried to compile Cinelerra before. Is there any solution or way to fix it or should I just file it as a bug report and figure I can't use Cinelerra until it gets figured out. thanks for any help, Robbt ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
[CinCVS] Cinelerra only renders black
Hi. I'm running Cinelerra w/ Ubuntu Edgy off the Debian AMD64 packages and some different mirrors, and since I upgraded to Cine 2.1 Whenever I render video w/ DV it creates a file that is all black w/ no sound, but the appropriate length. Does anyone know what this problem could be? Has anyone developed Ubuntu packages yet ? I tried to compile it myself but I ran into error after error and ended up with a non-working install. I thought that this version was working but now it appears to be screwed up. Thanks for any help/questions. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
Re: [CinCVS] [Bug 350] New: batch export of cut clips
It's funny because I was thinking the exact same thing this morning upon waking. But this feature alone would make Cinelerra excellent for creating short vid clips for the web for use on sites like youtube. I usually just run my Qt DV files through ffmpeg after I get them but if something that could resize the clips to 320x240 and encode them in multiple formats such as xvid and flash would be very helpful. [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350 Summary: batch export of cut clips Product: Cinelerra Version: 2.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Medium Component: User Interface AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi! Sometime ago there was discussion on #cinelerra regarding the usability of the following feature... I've lot of material which I capture from my camcorder. After loading the big clip (tens of GB) in Cinelerra one sets in-out points and Cinelerra has wonderful feature of allowing one to name those clips and add some useful comment. I plan to use that feature a lot by doing cut-only editing, ie. removing garbage from original material (captured from camcroder), so it would be nice if there would be option that Cinelerra can do batch export of those cut-clips in individual files, preserving original quality, which can be archived instead of keeping big original file containing garbage. So, if I load 30GB raw DV (or QT DV) file and cut & name 50 clips out of it, I'd like to be able to start batch job which would make 50 raw DV (or QT DV) files which can be saved as archive-material and used later in many projects as source-material. There could be also option to render those files in some other than original format, but, this was discussed in IRC, with the warning if user chooses to render clips in lossy format.
