[CinCV] [Bug 381] [PATCH] ffmpeg.h includes wrong avcodec.h file when using external ffmpeg
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381 --- Comment #5 from gchr...@psu.edu 2009-09-08 23:35 +2 --- >From the original bug report: "For example, I tried to render to YUV4MPEG from a DV file and fileyuv passes decoding of the DV to ffmpeg, but tells ffmpeg to use the "svq3" codec to decode it...which results in a crash inside libavcodec." This appears to be the same problem I was experiencing using Git checkout 954a91e72bba1ed1ce641b5faee7d4c5f318c074 (using internal ffmpeg, the error message was "[svq3 @ 0x5f8f0c0]unsupported slice header (1F)"). After recompiling to use external ffmpeg ('./configure --external-ffmpeg), renders work. If this should be filed as a new bug report, I'd be happy to do so. I have a problem with titling. When I use a .dv rendering, the quality of Titles (for the rest it seems to be Ok) is a shame. I have plenty of artefacts and blur around the fonts. For the same project I export it in .png. Each image is very clean and when I make a conversion of those images in .dv movie with an appropriate soft, everything looks fine. You can check the difference here : - DV with cinelerra : http://opensource.tdeo.fr/TestMontageCinelerraRGB8bits.dv - DV encoded with images rendered by CCV-4 : http://opensource.tdeo.fr/TestMontageEkd_Complet.dv.dv Before reporting this bug, I wrote on the french lprod.org mailing list and obviously, some peopleworking on CCV4 have the same problem. I tried also : - Changing the project preferences (RGB/RGBA 8bits/float...) - Add some TTF fonts to the appropriate directory - Try differents codecs (DV, mpeg2, avi, mov) All those experience are not efficient for imroving the quality of titling. Clip #1 is an NTSC DV file from camcorder via dvgrab. Clip #2 is a desktop screen capture at 1010x606 in mjpeg AVI format (in a MOV container) converted from AVI format from Windows using mencoder. Clip #3 is a 2-channel 44.1kHz AIFF. Editing or even just playing the timeline with the clips overlaid causes Cinelerra to quickly (within 2 minutes) consume all available system memory and swap. This did not happen when using the same exact clips and arrangment in an SD NTSC project (720x480, 29.97fps, non-interlaced) format. (I would just use that but I lose the wide-screen advantage of the desktop capture.) System is a dual dual-core Opteron 270 HP xw9300 workstation with 2GB RAM and 2.5GB swap. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create project of size 1280x720, 29.97fps, non-interlaced 2. Import video clip of non-standard size, like 1010x606, and one standard 720x480. 3. [CinCV] [Bug 540] New: Picture divided in compositor window, resulting the same in the output file
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=540 Summary: Picture divided in compositor window, resulting the same in the output file Product: Cinelerra Version: 2.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: Medium Component: Video Display AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no ReportedBy: farrid...@netsonic.fi Hello, and thanks for the great software! When I load a 1080p resolution MOV file into Cinelerra for editing, the picture is divided in a funny way. The leftmost quarter of it seems to flip over to the right edge in the compositor window. This only happens with 1080p resolution video, lower resolution clips work normally. This also results the video look like the same when I render it, no matter which parameters I use for the output. I've also tried to use Set Format to 1080p/29.97/16:9, no success. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start Cinelerra. 2. Load video file to project. 3. Picture divided. 4. The same result in the output file. Actual Results: The same result, every time. But only with these 1080p video clips. Expected Results: Picture should be normal, both in compositor window and in output file. When I play the input file using Movie Player or any other software, the picture is normal. I have grabbed a still frame of a sample video that might be of help in explaining the problem better. Where could (or should) I load it? System: PC with AMD 9550 Quad-core processor, Asus M2N32WS Pro motherboard, NVidia NX8600GT, 8 GB memory, 1 TB HDD. System: Ubuntu Studio 8.10. [CinCV] [Bug 532] Titler text goes to track title
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532 --- Comment #14 from raffaella.tranie...@livecom.it 2009-03-18 15:15 +2 --- It just happened again, but this time in the short time of a handful of operations. I'm working on a short project with 3 video tracks. I attached an effect (deinterlace - Bob & Weave)) on track Video 1, by right clicking in track Video 1 and selecting Attach effect. I played my project back and noticed Cin was not deinterlacing. In fact I forgot I had in/out point on so the effect was applied only on a portion of the track. I hit undo a few times (around 3 times with the button and 3 times with the Edit menu), but since I was not sure what she was undoing I canceled the effect and the in/out points manually. Video 1 was the only armed track. But I wrongly hit SHIFT-Tab and armed all tracks. So I hit SHIFT-Tab again. When I opened the Attach effect dialog again, the unwanted title was there in place of the track title (Video 3), visible in the shared track and shared effects columns. I closed the project without saving and repeated the above operations. No bug came this time. I can't reproduce it. :-( >From other observations I suspect the affected title effect is the last title effect at the bottom of the title effect stack. I'll keep trying to reproduce it. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.cinelerra.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

[CinCV] [Bug 538] New: working with masks in a composition with 3 videos, masked (undesired) areas appears when one image superpost others.
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538 Summary: working with masks in a composition with 3 videos, masked (undesired) areas appears when one image superpost others. Product: Cinelerra Version: 2.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Medium Component: Effects/Transitions AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no ReportedBy: angel.luis...@gmail.com The area hided by a mask of a video becomes visible when it cross or pass over another masked image. I have this composition (all multiply alpha masks, all feather borders around 40): track 1 = i applied a mask to isolate a face in a video. track 2 = a crowd that i masked to "round" the frame. track 3 = i masked a guitar playing. First, the crowd fade in in the bottom right corner. Tree quarter of the video area is black. Second, the guitar comes up in the middle left of the video area. the arm of the guitar is over the crowd. Then, the face comes up. Meanwhile, i used the projector tool to reduce the size of the guitar and move this image to the right top corner. this the bug (maybe): From now this movement I can see the edge of the original crowd video inside the guitar mask. More visible in the border area of the mask of the guitar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Explained above. Expected Results: I suppose to have 3 independent images i could move, zoom as i wish in the video frame. The bug becomes less evident if I lower the feather of the masks borders, but i need it around 40, and this video is a big job for cinelerra brazilian comunity. Actually, inside the border area of a mask, we see the hidden image of the video in the lower track instead of black. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.cinelerra.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

The track title contains a new-line, and this can be corrected very easily: Just hit the up or down key a few times, hit Del or Backspace until the newline is gone. Save the project and enjoy. The question is how the new-line character ended up there. I had the suspicion that the reason is with cinelerra's XML parser that mistakes the title effect's tag (that always contains a new-line) with the track's tag. But I just can't make the error happen again by editing the project, saving, re-loading. I need a recipe to turn a good project into a bogus project. http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532 --- Comment #7 from raffaella.tranie...@livecom.it 2009-01-07 23:16 +2 --- I tried to make a buggy project on purpose. No luck: the bug is not there. :-( I had a look at my old projects: unbelievable! As buggy as ever!! There must be something that triggers this. I noticed that sometimes the titler text that went in the wrong place was an older version of the current title as if the bug acted in a precise time during the project life, not regularly. [CinCV] [Bug 532] New: Titler text goes to track title
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532 Summary: Titler text goes to track title Product: Cinelerra Version: 2.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Medium Component: Effects/Transitions AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no ReportedBy: raffaella.tranie...@livecom.it Sometimes (say for a couple of tracks in a 15 tracks project) the field of a video track name appears blank and uneditable. In the EDL in place of "Video 1" you can read some lines of text I wrote in the titler, often enhanced with casual letters. In the "Attach effect" dialog the list of tracks names reports those funny names, sometimes one after another, sometimes one over another (that is unreadable). Editing manually the EDL and correcting the text between and doesn't really fix the problem: the track title fields are still uneditable and the "Attach effect" dialog is still unusable: the names are changed but they are one over another and/or changing or disappearing when hovering over with the mouse. [CinCV] [Bug 530] New: Clips which are direct copied may not start with an I frame.
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530 Summary: Clips which are direct copied may not start with an I frame. Product: Cinelerra Version: 2.1 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Medium Component: Rendering AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no ReportedBy: i...@beware.dropbear.id.au Mpeg[24] encoding consists of I Frames followed by B and P Frames which are relative to the preceding I frame. When cutting out a bit of mpeg, unless the cut happens to be at an I frame, the frames from the cut up until the next I Frame need to be reconstructed. Direct copying can proceed from the next I Frame. Cinelerra doesn't do this correctly (or at all?). Other software refers to I frames as "keyframes" which is confusing in the light of Cinelerra's usage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start with an mpeg4 encoded quicktime file. 2.Create a project with random clips and no other effects 3.Render the file using the same encoding, size etc as the original 4. Play the clip using (for example) mplayer, single stepping through frames at the transition points. Actual Results: Mplayer complains that "warning: first frame is no keyframe" and displays blocky video up until it does get the first I Frame. At each transition there is also the same blocky video effect. Expected Results: Smooth video playback. My source video was created with mencoder with the following options -ofps 16 -of lavf -lavfopts format=mov \ -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1200:aspect=4/3:keyint=30 The compositor window does not show this effect, so somewhere there is code which knows how to do the right thing. My source has an I Frame every 30th frame. This effect would not manifest its self if every frame was a keyframe, but the mencoder default is 250, which would result in up to 10 seconds of broken video at 25fps. Changing the encoding which forces re-encoding during rendering also makes this effect go away, but of course this is a) slower and b) leads to generational lossage. If I do ffprobe on the source I get: tmp $ ffprobe /var/media/rip/dalls-dvd-project/dalls-3-mpeg4.mov FFprobe version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2007-2008 Stefano Sabatini libavutil version: 49.10.0 libavcodec version: 51.71.0 libavformat version: 52.22.1 built on Dec 18 2008 23:02:22, gcc: 4.1.2 20070925 (Red Hat 4.1.2-33) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from '/var/media/rip/dalls-dvd-project/dalls-3-mpeg4.mov': Duration: 01:04:22.50, start: 0.00, bitrate: 1184 kb/s Stream #0.0(eng): Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:15 DAR 4:3], 16.00 tb(r) Whereas ffprobe on the result of the render is: tmp $ ffprobe /var/tmp/test-render.mov FFprobe version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2007-2008 Stefano Sabatini libavutil version: 49.10.0 libavcodec version: 51.71.0 libavformat version: 52.22.1 built on Dec 18 2008 23:02:22, gcc: 4.1.2 20070925 (Red Hat 4.1.2-33) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]hmm, seems the headers are not complete, trying to guess time_increment_bits [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]my guess is 1 bits ;) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]Error, header damaged or not MPEG4 header (qscale=0) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]header damaged [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]hmm, seems the headers are not complete, trying to guess time_increment_bits [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]my guess is 1 bits ;) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]Error, header damaged or not MPEG4 header (qscale=0) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]header damaged [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]hmm, seems the headers are not complete, trying to guess time_increment_bits [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]my guess is 4 bits ;) [mpeg4 @ 0x960a730]warning: first frame is no keyframe Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from '/var/tmp/test-render.mov': Duration: 00:00:01.75, start: 0.00, bitrate: 1602 kb/s Stream #0.0(eng): Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 1:1 DAR 5:4], 16.00 tb(r) Note that there are additional "problems" ffprobe notes with the header. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.cinelerra.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

If I fix the framerate of the input file so that the two tracks have the same length, the audio and video are in sync only at the beginning and the end of the video. In the middle of it, it all depends where the frames were dropped. It seems that cinelerra consider dropped frames as if there were no frame at all, and so use the next frame in place of the dropped frame, resulting in a delay between audio and video. HdPVR from hauppage is a first HD h264 compatible with blueray encoder with drivers for linux. Look: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html Look: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_HD-PVR This works with hardware encoder, and the file is a encoded h264 codec with aac, muxer with mpegts format... This works normally with mplayer using libavcodec (lavf) and ffh264 decoder In moment, I need convert this video to extracted yuv files to open in cinelerra. But need strong time to convert. I am suggesting, implement support to import encoded h264 formats in cinelerra, this is possible? because I think, use of h264 is a requisit to editing HD files. Thanks!
