Im 100% sure that the popup does not say "There are some errors".

I think you get my point. Please search the bug database and the mailing list
archives before you open another bug report. I'm pretty sure your problem has
been discussed already.

[CinCV] [Bug 381] [PATCH] ffmpeg.h includes wrong avcodec.h file when using external ffmpeg

2009-09-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381

--- Comment #5 from gchr...@psu.edu 2009-09-08 23:35 +2 ---
>From the original bug report:
"For example, I tried to render to YUV4MPEG from a DV file and fileyuv passes
decoding of the DV to ffmpeg, but tells ffmpeg to use the "svq3" codec to
decode it...which results in a crash inside libavcodec."

This appears to be the same problem I was experiencing using Git checkout
954a91e72bba1ed1ce641b5faee7d4c5f318c074 (using internal ffmpeg, the error
message was "[svq3 @ 0x5f8f0c0]unsupported slice header (1F)"). After
recompiling to use external ffmpeg ('./configure --external-ffmpeg), renders
work.

If this should be filed as a new bug report, I'd be happy to do so. What other
information would be helpful?

I get the same problem on my gentoo ~amd64. It was related to a bad sound
config into cinelerra.

I have jackd running all the time, use ALSA as cinelerra sound output, and a
pcm jack plug into ~/.asoundrc. For me, the solution was to check into
cinelerra audio preferences "Verrouiller l'arret de la lecture (en cas de
probleme)", something like "Look the stop of playing (in case of problem)".

Hello,

I'm currently a french user of CCV -4 on mandriva 2009.0.

I have a problem with titling. When I use a .dv rendering, the quality of
Titles (for the rest it seems to be Ok) is a shame. I have plenty of artefacts
and blur around the fonts.
For the same project I export it in .png. Each image is very clean and when I
make a conversion of those images in .dv movie with an appropriate soft,
everything looks fine.

You can check the difference here :
- DV with cinelerra : http://opensource.tdeo.fr/TestMontageCinelerraRGB8bits.dv
- DV encoded with images rendered by CCV-4 :
http://opensource.tdeo.fr/TestMontageEkd_Complet.dv.dv

Before reporting this bug, I wrote on the french lprod.org mailing list and
obviously, some peopleworking on CCV4 have the same problem.
I tried also :
- Changing the project preferences (RGB/RGBA 8bits/float...)
- Add some TTF fonts to the appropriate directory
- Try differents codecs (DV, mpeg2, avi, mov)

All those experience are not efficient for imroving the quality of titling.

Thanks for reading me

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Only rendering a project on a video codec with a title

Expected Results:
Proper quality as the png or jpg rendering sequence

I have the latest libraries that Debian Testing offers (from debian-multimedia
repo.) I also found that this is not limited to HD projects. A 720x480 NI
project exhibits the same behavior.

New info: the source clip is an MJPEG AVI (converted from a CamStudio Lossless
AVI by mencoder.) (Is there a way to make the original into a MOV with minimal
re-encoding? I'm thinking Cin will play nicer with an MOV.)

I was following the tutorial at
http://akiradproject.net/cinelerra_is_very_easy_1, which shows me to adjust my
settings for using cinelerra under Ubuntu. I open up the preferences window,
but the window is too large for my screen. The window size is not adjustable,
and there are no sliders for adjusting what content of the window I see. The
OK and Apply buttons are off my screen, so I cannot apply or use the changes,
and the software is totally unusable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Cinelerra
2. open preferences
3. see a window that is too big and unusable

Actual Results:
I saw a window that is too big to be used.

Expected Results:
I expected to be able to adjust my settings.

I should have a window with an adjustable size, perhaps with sliders as well.
I should be able to find all the content of the window somehow.

I had mem leaks on my Fedora 7 system when I was trying to edit 1080p content.
After I upgraded to Fedora 10, the mem leaks went away. I surmised that the
problem was caused by older libraries that Cinelerra depends on. Once I
upgraded, whatever problems those older dependencies had went away.

[CinCV] [Bug 542] New: Memory leak when playing or editing clips in a 720p HD project

2009-06-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=542

Summary: Memory leak when playing or editing clips in a 720p HD
project
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: Medium
 Component: User Interface
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: pega...@renegadetech.com

In preparing a video for YouTube HD from video, project is 1280x720, 29.97 fps
YUVA 8-bit, non-interlaced, 44.1kHz 2-channel audio.

Clip #1 is an NTSC DV file from camcorder via dvgrab. Clip #2 is a desktop
screen capture at 1010x606 in mjpeg AVI format (in a MOV container) converted
from AVI format from Windows using mencoder. Clip #3 is a 2-channel 44.1kHz
AIFF.

Editing or even just playing the timeline with the clips overlaid causes
Cinelerra to quickly (within 2 minutes) consume all available system memory and
swap.

This did not happen when using the same exact clips and arrangment in an SD
NTSC project (720x480, 29.97fps, non-interlaced) format. (I would just use that
but I lose the wide-screen advantage of the desktop capture.)

System is a dual dual-core Opteron 270 HP xw9300 workstation with 2GB RAM and
2.5GB swap.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create project of size 1280x720, 29.97fps, non-interlaced
2. Import video clip of non-standard size, like 1010x606, and one standard
720x480.
3. Place them both on the timeline in separate tracks
4. Play the timeline. Notice that memory gets gobbled up until your system
begins to thrash.

Actual Results:
All available system memory and swap was consumed within 2 minutes.

Expected Results:
Consume only the memory needed at any instant and free it shortly after
finishing with it.

SUV theme. The odd-sized clip is the problem. If I delete that from the
timeline, the problem goes away.

[CinCV] [Bug 536] clip name is not displayed on timeline

2009-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536

--- Comment #1 from t...@castyour.net 2009-05-26 12:18 +2 ---
This would definitely be helpful for me as well. Perhaps the feature could be
set up to be able to handle several generations of clips?

Yes, this "workaround" does fix the GUI hang problem when a cinelerra-generated
XML file is loaded as "replace current project" OR at the CLI:

[CinCV] [Bug 486] Feature request: ADR/Looping/Dubbing

2009-05-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #1 from whi...@freelabs.com 2009-05-03 12:35 +2 ---
It should be noted that the same basic algorithm is also useful for lining up
audio/video from two cameras used simultaneously or audio from an audio
recorder with video (with lower quality audio). This includes using timecode
recorded on an audio track to line up multiple sources. So this could be two
plugins sharing code, one for ADR looping and one to align tracks on the
timeline.

[CinCV] [Bug 540] New: Picture divided in compositor window, resulting the same in the output file

2009-04-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Summary: Picture divided in compositor window, resulting the same

   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: Medium
 Component: Video Display
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: farrid...@netsonic.fi

Hello, and thanks for the great software!

When I load a 1080p resolution MOV file into Cinelerra for editing, the picture
is divided in a funny way. The leftmost quarter of it seems to flip over to the
right edge in the compositor window. This only happens with 1080p resolution
video, lower resolution clips work normally. This also results the video look
like the same when I render it, no matter which parameters I use for the
output. I've also tried to use Set Format to 1080p/29.97/16:9, no success.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Cinelerra.
2. Load video file to project.
3. Picture divided.
4. The same result in the output file.

Actual Results:
The same result, every time. But only with these 1080p video clips.

Expected Results:
Picture should be normal, both in compositor window and in output file.

When I play the input file using Movie Player or any other software, the
picture is normal. I have grabbed a still frame of a sample video that might be
of help in explaining the problem better. Where could (or should) I load it?

System: PC with AMD 9550 Quad-core processor, Asus M2N32WS Pro motherboard,
NVidia NX8600GT, 8 GB memory, 1 TB HDD. System: Ubuntu Studio 8.10. Cinelerra
installed from here:

http://cinelerra.org/getting_cinelerra.php#ubuntu (4.0 version, I guess)

1080p/29.97/16:9/MOV format video created using Practica DVC 5.4 FHD.

^ note that I add two video tracks, yet for some reason beyond me and my hours
of time trying to find out why, the thing renders both video tracks on only one
view and plays them on top of each other with random flickering back and forth
between the two videos. This effect is duplicated on each "view" in the
compositor.

as the documentation showed, I was expected each video on a separate view.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add two video tracks
2. click play
3. be annoyed as it flickers between the two tracks on the output.

Actual Results:
see step 3

Expected Results:
no flickering, top level video should play only, until I use the compositor to
place the videos or modify overlay properties.

[CinCV] [Bug 532] Titler text goes to track title

2009-03-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=532

--- Comment #14 from raffaella.tranie...@livecom.it 2009-03-18 15:15 +2
---
It just happened again, but this time in the short time of a handful of
operations.

I'm working on a short project with 3 video tracks.
I attached an effect (deinterlace - Bob & Weave)) on track Video 1, by right
clicking in track Video 1 and selecting Attach effect.
I played my project back and noticed Cin was not deinterlacing.
In fact I forgot I had in/out point on so the effect was applied only on a
portion of the track.
I hit undo a few times (around 3 times with the button and 3 times with the
Edit menu), but since I was not sure what she was undoing I canceled the effect
and the in/out points manually.
Video 1 was the only armed track. But I wrongly hit SHIFT-Tab and armed all
tracks. So I hit SHIFT-Tab again.
When I opened the Attach effect dialog again, the unwanted title was there in
place of the track title (Video 3), visible in the shared track and shared
effects columns.

I closed the project without saving and repeated the above operations. No bug
came this time.
I can't reproduce it. :-(

>From other observations I suspect the affected title effect is the last title
effect at the bottom of the title effect stack.

I'll keep trying to reproduce it.

Tip I received from Paolo (akir4d -cinelerra):"problem with an ubuntu
package
first remove mpeg3-utils and then you can install cinelerra"
Works!
Problem solved!
I hope that helps.

[CinCV] [Bug 538] New: working with masks in a composition with 3 videos, masked (undesired) areas appears when one image superpost others.

2009-03-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538

Summary: working with masks in a composition with 3 videos,
masked (undesired) areas appears when one image
superpost others.
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Medium
 Component: Effects/Transitions
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: angel.luis...@gmail.com

The area hided by a mask of a video becomes visible when it cross or pass over
another masked image.

I have this composition (all multiply alpha masks, all feather borders around
40):

track 1 = i applied a mask to isolate a face in a video.
track 2 = a crowd that i masked to "round" the frame.
track 3 = i masked a guitar playing.

First, the crowd fade in in the bottom right corner. Tree quarter of the video
area is black.
Second, the guitar comes up in the middle left of the video area. the arm of
the guitar is over the crowd.
Then, the face comes up.
Meanwhile, i used the projector tool to reduce the size of the guitar and move
this image to the right top corner.

this the bug (maybe):
From now this movement I can see the edge of the original crowd video inside
the guitar mask. More visible in the border area of the mask of the guitar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Explained above.

Expected Results:
I suppose to have 3 independent images i could move, zoom as i wish in the
video frame.

The bug becomes less evident if I lower the feather of the masks borders, but i
need it around 40, and this video is a big job for cinelerra brazilian
comunity.
Actually, inside the border area of a mask, we see the hidden image of the
video in the lower track instead of black.

[CinCV] [Bug 323] progress dialog hangs when loading *.mpeg file

--- Comment #3 from fra...@hotmail.com 2009-03-01 20:18 +2 ---
Forgot to mention I am on Fedora 10, x86-64. I should clarify that Cinelerra
hangs on loading more than four files of almost any media type. Here are the
ones I've tried:
- MPEG-TS videos
- JPEG quicktime videos
- H264 quicktime videos

My workaround is to select less than four files to load at a time.

I can reproducible work around this bug with all my images. When I have a
portrait image and I open it in Gimp it asks me to if i want to rotate it. If I
agree, it will rotate the image and the following import in Cinelerra will
display the green lines. However if I decline the rotation and open the image
and then rotate it as an image manipulation within Gimp the image it will be
rotated fine and show without green lines.

I suspect has to do with the different operation including the EXIF info or
some other manipulation happening differently, but have not checked.

the possibility to set them. As to the rest, I really appreciate the program.

see following test file (no sound):
http://watch.deptford.tv/files/rough/144_1_DTV%2004.mp4

we found following workaround:
- load the clip into avidemux (hit cancel on the h.264 warning: H.264 detected
If the file is using B-frames as reference it can lead to a crash or
stuttering.
Avidemux can use another mode which is safe but YOU WILL LOSE FRAME ACCURACY.
Do you want to use that mode?)
- under the video drop down menu choose: "MPEG-4 AVC (x264)"
- hit the "configure" button under video, choose "Single Pass - Quality
Quantizer (Constant)" & hit ok
- under the audio drop down menu choose: "AAC (FAAC)"
- under format drop down menu choose: "MP4"
- hit "save"
- load the new clip into cinelerra & sound is there.

see following test file (re-encoded with avidemux):
http://www.deptford.tv/media/144_1_DTV_04b.mp4

why is that? isn't it the same codec? x.264 with AAC sound?
& is there a script with which one could batch encode all x.264 files with no
sound into x.264 files with sound?

[CinCV] [Bug 534] New: left buttons in compositor freeze the window

the left side buttons in the compositor (mask, projector, camera ...) randomly
cause the compositor window to lock up. The main window is still usable (for a
time), the work can be saved.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
start cinelerra and click on the mentioned buttons until it locks up.
Sometimes this happens after the 1st or 2nd button you click, sometimes takes
longer, but always happens.

Cinelerra does not report any errors on the commandline.

Actual Results:
lock up

Expected Results:
no lock up

The version I use is svn20080716 from debian-multimedia.org (I have debian
lenny/sid with selfcompiled 2.6.28 kernel).
- xorg 7.3
- libx11 1.1.5
- nvidia 180.22 (with 8800gts g80)

Cinelerra does not report any errors, also the gdb backtrace of the threads
doesn't show anything suspicious (to me). I can upload it somewhere if you
want, but has no debugging symbols.
Compiling from git is not possible since it demands very old (partly renamed)
libs and automake1.8, which is not availabe in lenny anymore.

I have tried a patch for xcb-xlib (assert replace) because I found a similar
issue on the net with this patch but problems still persist. I have not tried

sorry, on logout I have noticed that this is cinelerra-CV bugtracker, and not
cinelerra-4. I was assuming that bugs.cinelerra.org belongs to the original
cinelerra. Just ignore this bug.

[CinCV] [Bug 533] New: [cinelerra-4] Vertical Timeline Scrollbar locks up main window

2009-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=533

Summary: [cinelerra-4] Vertical Timeline Scrollbar locks up main
window
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical
  Priority: Medium
 Component: User Interface
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: spamcatch...@nurfuerspam.de

When using the vertical scrollbar of the timeline, cinelerra-4 freezes and
needs to killed. This happens every time when I load a clip into the timeline,
which is longer than the visible time scale, and then use the scrollbar to
scroll to the right. This does not happen in cinelerra-cv 2.1.

I'm using a debian lenny/sid with 2.6.28 kernel (same happened with 2.6.24-26).
xcb is enabled in xorg.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
load a video and scroll the timeline with the vertical scrollbar.
Actual Results:
the main window locks up, the other windows are still usable

[CinCV] [Bug 532] Titler text goes to track title

The track title contains a new-line, and this can be corrected very easily:
Just hit the up or down key a few times, hit Del or Backspace until the newline
is gone. Save the project and enjoy.

The question is how the new-line character ended up there. I had the suspicion
that the reason is with cinelerra's XML parser that mistakes the title effect's
tag (that always contains a new-line) with the track's tag.
But I just can't make the error happen again by editing the project, saving,
re-loading.

I need a recipe to turn a good project into a bogus project. Watch out for
accidental middle-mouse-pastes, undo/redo sequences, hitting Enter while the
mouse is over the edit, etc...

I can find this bug even in my very first Cin project. Credits say it was
edited between July and September 2006 but the file itself is dated June 2007
(I must have opened it again later).

As for the fix in the session XML, I confirm it doesn't solve the problem: the
new track name is reported correctly in the shared effect dialog but the track
title field is still blank and uneditable.

Ciao!

just a quick serach, and I could dig out an example from my SVN (where
I happened to check in my session files...)

Note: the title text in the Keyframe "14 Tage frher" (german for "14 days

I'll add just the interesting fragment as attachement. It's from May 2007 btw,
i.e. this seems to be a long standing bug.

I tried to make a buggy project on purpose. No luck: the bug is not there. :-(

I had a look at my old projects: unbelievable! As buggy as ever!!

There must be something that triggers this. I noticed that sometimes the titler
text that went in the wrong place was an older version of the current title as
if the bug acted in a precise time during the project life, not regularly.

This bug is so common among my projects that I find hard to believe you don't
have empty track title fields in yours.

No, Hannes. It's well below the 1023 characters limit.

  First track (opening titles):
First title effect: 35 ch.
Second title effect: 7 ch. (*)

(*) The text of the last title effect of the track is:

FOR VAL

  Second track (credits):
First title effect: 16 ch.
Second title effect: 429 ch
Third title effect: 80 ch (**)

(**) The text of the last title effect of the track is:

This video is published
under a Creative Commons License

I used no keyframes.

To have some track title fields occasionally blank and not editable is
something very familiar to me. I see it since long (years?).
It's just the first time I see this odd behavior as a proper bug.

Ciao!

On a more detailed analysis of a backup of my current project it
appears that the affected tracks are the ones with the title effect applied.

I noticed in the EDL there are *two* tags for every track.
The first one just after that defines the track title,
the other inside in that defines the text for titles and
credits.

Well... in my project the two tracks that have a Title plugin applied
replace the track title between the first with the last lines
of text
written before the inside in .

I have not studied any other project yet.

[CinCV] [Bug 532] New: Titler text goes to track title

2009-01-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Sometimes (say for a couple of tracks in a 15 tracks project) the field of a
video track name appears blank and uneditable.

In the EDL in place of "Video 1" you can read some lines of text I wrote in the
titler, often enhanced with casual letters.

In the "Attach effect" dialog the list of tracks names reports those funny
names, sometimes one after another, sometimes one over another (that is
unreadable).

Editing manually the EDL and correcting the text between and
doesn't really fix the problem: the track title fields are still uneditable and
the "Attach effect" dialog is still unusable: the names are changed but they
are one over another and/or changing or disappearing when hovering over with
the mouse.

I haven't found a workaround.
Nor have I discovered what triggers this.

Is she getting confused by her own language??

Ciao!
Raffaella

[CinCV] [Bug 530] New: Clips which are direct copied may not start with an I frame.

2008-12-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=530

Summary: Clips which are direct copied may not start with an I
frame.
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Medium
 Component: Rendering
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: i...@beware.dropbear.id.au

Mpeg[24] encoding consists of I Frames followed by B and P Frames which are
relative to the preceding I frame. When cutting out a bit of mpeg, unless the
cut happens to be at an I frame, the frames from the cut up until the next I
Frame need to be reconstructed. Direct copying can proceed from the next I
Frame. Cinelerra doesn't do this correctly (or at all?).

Other software refers to I frames as "keyframes" which is confusing in the
light of Cinelerra's usage.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start with an mpeg4 encoded quicktime file.
2.Create a project with random clips and no other effects
3.Render the file using the same encoding, size etc as the original
4. Play the clip using (for example) mplayer, single stepping through frames at
the transition points.

Actual Results:
Mplayer complains that "warning: first frame is no keyframe" and displays
blocky video up until it does get the first I Frame. At each transition there
is also the same blocky video effect.

Expected Results:
Smooth video playback.

My source video was created with mencoder with the following options

-ofps 16 -of lavf -lavfopts format=mov \
-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1200:aspect=4/3:keyint=30

The compositor window does not show this effect, so somewhere there is code
which knows how to do the right thing. My source has an I Frame every 30th
frame. This effect would not manifest its self if every frame was a keyframe,
but the mencoder default is 250, which would result in up to 10 seconds of
broken video at 25fps.

Changing the encoding which forces re-encoding during rendering also makes this
effect go away, but of course this is a) slower and b) leads to generational
lossage.

If I do ffprobe on the source I get:
tmp $ ffprobe /var/media/rip/dalls-dvd-project/dalls-3-mpeg4.mov

Seems that this problem is present on Fedora too, I've tested Debian Lenny and
Fedora, both amd64(Intel Core 2 Duo). On this hardware is Cinelerra totally
unusable. I'm trying to find solution, I've compiled Cinelerra with debuging
symbols enabled and without optimization(except quicktime/ffmpeg/i386, there is
assembler code which cannot be compiled with -O0). But there are 27 threads in
runnning cinelerra, and I'm beginner to gdb, so i've not found the problem yet.

[CinCV] [Bug 529] New: Clip comments not loaded properly.

2008-12-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529

Summary: Clip comments not loaded properly.
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Medium
 Component: File Loading
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: i...@beware.dropbear.id.au

Cinelerra 2.1CV

When a project is loaded, the clip comments (CLIP_NOTES in the XML file) are
truncated to the first line.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a clip
2.Notice that the comment field has multiple lines already filled in.
3.Add additional lines to the comment (optional step)
4.Save the project and quit cinelerra
5.Restart cinelerra and load the project file.
6.Goto the resources window and the clips folder
7.Examine the clip info and notice that only the first line of the comment
remains.

Actual Results:
Comment is truncated to the first line.

Expected Results:
All lines of the comment remain.

Examining the CLIP_NOTES in the project file after the save and before
restarting cinelerra, shows all the comment information is present. Saving the
project again, the comment is truncated. So this is a problem loading the file,
not in saving or displaying the information.

Summary: Main window freezes after stopping playback (lenny

   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: Medium
 Component: User Interface
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: vyta...@gmail.com

Cinelerra main window freezes after loading new files (DV files in AVI format)
into the project followed by playback. This problem is reproduced on Debian
Lenny amd64 platform using different versions of Cinelerra: from
www.debian-multimedia.org (both binary packages and recompiled from the source)
as well as compiled version of cinelerra-4 source downloaded from
heroinewarrior site. Also the same happens loading with modified X11 libraries
without xcb extensions.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load new file for the project
2. Click on play
3. Stop the playback
4. Try to play again or to rewind back

Actual Results:
Main window freezes at step 4. You can exit from cinelerra only by killing the
parent process.

Expected Results:
Must not freeze, but allow to use main window functions.

I've seen similar complains from other people running cinelerra on Ubuntu
amd64.

The Ubuntu 8.04 release of Cinelerra-CV installed, but was buggy so I am trying
to build from source. After installing dependencies, setting symlinks, etc.,
./configure finally gave the go ahead for 'make' (all pre-reqs are met except
for ESD is missing). Make goes through the process, but quits when it gets to
the "mpeg2enc" folder, saying that "./libs/fdct_mmx.o" isn't found. I have no
clue where to go from here or where to begin research.

I acquired the source on 20 December 2008 from git. The "my_cinelerra" folder
is in my home directory.

[CinCV] [Bug 526] New: a/v out of sync when the input file had dropped frames

2008-12-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=526

Summary: a/v out of sync when the input file had dropped frames
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Medium
 Component: File Loading
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have a lot of video files that unfortunately have here and there few dropped
frames. usually, they play fine everywhere, but in cinelerra, the audio and
video gets out of sync.

Since the frames are not dropped in a regular scheme, there is no way to get
the audio and video in sync for the complete length of the video. When the file
is loaded, the sound track is longer. If I fix the framerate of the input file
so that the two tracks have the same length, the audio and video are in sync
only at the beginning and the end of the video. In the middle of it, it all
depends where the frames were dropped.

It seems that cinelerra consider dropped frames as if there were no frame at
all, and so use the next frame in place of the dropped frame, resulting in a
delay between audio and video.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

[CinCV] [Bug 525] New: Support for hdpvr(h264 + aac - mpegts) encoded files?

OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW

ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi! HdPVR from hauppage is a first HD h264 compatible with blueray encoder with
drivers for linux.
Look: http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html
Look: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_HD-PVR

This works with hardware encoder, and the file is a encoded h264 codec with
aac, muxer with mpegts format... This works normally with mplayer using
libavcodec (lavf) and ffh264 decoder

In moment, I need convert this video to extracted yuv files to open in
cinelerra. But need strong time to convert.

I am suggesting, implement support to import encoded h264 formats in cinelerra,
this is possible? because I think, use of h264 is a requisit to editing HD
files. Thanks!

This is a sample file encoded with hdpvr from mythtv:
http://www.pibbvc.com.br/arquivos/hcw_hd_pvr_1080i_h264_cap04.mpg

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open file in cinelerra
2.
3.

Actual Results:
if I try open in cinelerra, this crashes and not works, not have any error in
console...

Expected Results:
Works with encoded file

I am using cinelerra compiled 2.1 cv, quicktime version: 2.2.0 limpeg3 version:
1.7.0

Ubuntu Studio 8.04, Linux 2.6.24-19-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT RT i686 GNU/Linux

The workaround of loading the project in two steps doesn't work for me too.

As Hermann suggested on ML, you can close the source after you have used it in
the Viewer (right click to open the menu).
See his detailed message at

Yes, not using viewer may work too. Locking problem is related to viewer.

I try to explain the suggested tip:

Start cinelerra. Load your project with
insertion strategy: 'Create new resources only'. Load your project again
with insertion strategy: 'Replace current project'.

No need for editing your project file.

I did reload my own affected projects several times, and they did not just
magically open once. It is not an option to me to loose all my edits - my
current project is just one resource and many edits. only removing the
VWINDOW_EDL did make it work again. My workaround: do not watch clips in the
viewer!

Maybe this bug hit me too - I am using Christian Marillats build. By
experimentation I found a workaround. Boy, that did take long! Maybe even more
time than redoing all the lost edits ;) Cinelerra does not like the
"VWINDOW_EDL".

Now, with attached project of Julians do like that:

- load project into cinelerra
- cursor over the main cinelerra window stays a watch
- cannot do anything;
- kill cinelerra
+ remove the "VWINDOW_EDL" entity from the file
- now file loads fine.

Peter

[CinCV] [Bug 522] New: Cinelerra crashes when adjusting the preferences for the delay video

2008-10-21 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522

Summary: Cinelerra crashes when adjusting the preferences for the
delay video
   Product: Cinelerra
   Version: 2.1
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Medium
 Component: Effects/Transitions
AssignedTo: cinelerra@skolelinux.no
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I swipped the area of the video I wanted to add a "delay video" effect. I added
the effect and then went to adjust it's preferences and Cinelerra 4.0 crashed.

Below is the output from the terminal. I'm running Kubuntu 8.04.

Cinelerra is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License,
and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under
certain conditions. There is absolutely no warranty for Cinelerra.

I also see the horizontal green window blinds on
cinelerra-2.1-0.14.20080214.fc9.i386 . It has something to do with dimensions,
such as the ratio of width to height.

I still get the bug here in Debian unstable and testing (versions 1.1.5-2 and
1.1.5-1 ).
I had to downgrade back to stable ( libx11-6 2.0.1-7 )
