Re: [CinCV] can't install from 386 repo (Valentina Messeri) on lenny

2008-11-28 Thread B. Bogart
Hi Daniel,

I installed cinelerra back when etch was testing, it continued to work
while etch was stable but not when I upgraded to lenny.

Turns out that the issue I'm having *is* solved by running cinelerra
with sudo. Anyone have any idea why this is? I also tried the cinelerra4
package you mentioned, which has the same issue with locking up when
being run as a normal user.

Well I'm up and running again.

Thanks for the root hint!

2. I removed the unofficial repos for cinelerra from my soures.list and
installed from debian-multimedia. Seems that debian-multimedia has the
same version as I had installed from Valentina's 32bit repo:
2.1.0~svn20080706-0.0

afaik, i build not that far:

http://giss.tv/~vale/debian32/

but at the end of october, so version should be newer that marillat (i
think is for that i build)

really don't understand your problems, anyway.maybe you'd better
run ubuntu binary from heroinewarrior.

cheers!

Vale

What version do you have installed Daniel? I just updated my lenny
yesterday, how about you?

Thanks for the help.

B. Bogart

On your lock up problem, check Settings>Preferances > Playback and select
Audio Driver = Alsa
Underneath that check the tab "Stop playback locks up"
Under Video Out uncheck "Play Every Frame"

I'm using the build from http://debian-multimedia.org and that resolved the
same error you were having it's a bit older (2007) but works fine. I have a
script to install the whole deb multimedia repo if interested.

2008-11-27 Thread Daniel Jircik
If you were trying to install cinelerra on etch it won't work. Debian
multimedia only supports testing (lenny ) for cinelerra. Console shows this
version to be 2.1cv compliled 07/06/08 same as yours. So is the version from
debinan-multimedia working for you or it locks up as well?

I had unresponsive issues from a cv source build which I worked around by
running as root.

[CinCV] can't install from 386 repo (Valentina Messeri) on lenny

2008-11-26 Thread B. Bogart
Hey all,

I have not used cinelerra much (maybe not since my upgrade from etch to
lenny) and upon opening it it appears to freeze.

all the gui elements load, except for the projector? window (the viewer
on the right) and the gui is locked (no response).

I see no errors in the console:

Cinelerra 2.1CV (C) 2006 Heroine Virtual Ltd.
Compiled on dimanche 6 juillet 2008, 19:01:47 (UTC+0200)

Cinelerra is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License,
and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under
certain conditions. There is absolutely no warranty for Cinelerra.

when I kill the process I get:

signal_entry: got SIGINT my pid=22531 execution table size=16:

BC_Signals::dump_buffers: buffer table size=0
BC_Signals::delete_temps: deleting 0 temp files
SigHandler::signal_handler total files=0
Aborted

I'm using cinelerra 2.1.0~svn20080706-0.0 from this repo:

http://giss.tv/~vale/debian64

Though I am NOT using a 64 bit kernel.

So I changed to this repo:

http://giss.tv/~vale/debian32

Thanks Valentina Messeri.

Unfortunately I am unable to install due to package conflicts:

Seems all of Andraz Tori's repos require sid and don't work on lenny:

cinelerra: Depends: liblame0 (>= 3.97) but it is not installable
Depends: libopenexr2ldbl (>= 1.2.2) but it is not installable

not going to be installed
 Depends: libmpeg3hv (= 1:2.1.0-2svn20071030) but
1:2.1.0-2svn20081020.1 is to be installed

I tried changing my debian-multimedia to sid, but I get the same errors
above.

What is the best way to install cinelerra from repo on lenny?

Thanks,
B. Bogart
